WWE Rumours: Seth Rollins favoured to defeat Finn Balor at SummerSlam

Seth Rollins and Finn Balor are set to face off at Summerslam to determine the inaugural WWE Universal Champion. It was reported last week that WWE officials have been high on Finn Balor’s work for quite some time now, and are favouring him to overcome Seth Rollins and become the first ever Universal Champion, and subsequently the face of Monday Night Raw.

However, according to the early odds, Balor won’t be winning the WWE Universal Championship at Summerslam. The odds, which were recently released by 5 Dimes Sportsbook, have Rollins listed as a slight favorite over the former NXT Champion. The odds are Finn Balor [+155] vs. Seth Rollins [-195] [WWE Universal Championship] according to them.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the WWE Universal Champion is expected to face Brock Lesnar at Royal Rumble, 5 months from now. Finn Balor vs Brock Lesnar sounds something of a dream match, but if the odds, in fact, turn out to be true, then that may not be the direction that they are going in.

Either way, as history has proven, plans can change, whether it is due to a change in heart from Vince McMahon, or other circumstances. Who do you want to see as the first ever WWE Universal Champion?
