Seth Rollins News: Intercontinental Champion defends Monday Night Raw's recent run

What's the story?

Everyone's been critical of Monday Night Raw lately, including Seth Rollins. However, the Intercontinental Champion defended the creative team on Twitter today.

In case you didn't know...

Monday Night Raw has notably fallen off the rails recently, breaking their lowest viewed record in back to back weeks. Fans and critics alike have been less than impressed with the flagship show over the past month, and the WWE even took their complaints into consideration... by making it part of their recent storyline.

On Monday Night Raw, Seth Rollins addressed the state of the show, its roster, and General Manager-elect Baron Corbin. Rollins brought up some points that fans have been expressing on Twitter recently, including The Revival, who many feel have been misused since their debut on the main roster.

Rollins then went on to bring up one of the WWE Universe's biggest complaints over the years in the state of the top title and Brock Lesnar. The Beast Incarnate has been at the top of Monday Night Raw for years now, keeping both the WWE Championship and Universal Championship hostage at different points.

All his critiques aside, Rollins seems to understand just how hard it can be to continuously book a show with absolutely no breaks.

The heart of the matter

On Twitter, Seth Rollins jumped into a conversation that former WWE writer Jimmy Jacobs started. After a tweet from Bryan Alvarez calling Monday Night Raw's recent slump "embarrassing," the Zombie Princess took to the defense of the current crop of writers on the creative team.

That’s the one thing I don’t think people understand. 5 hours of live TV every week. EVERY WEEK. Add in all the extraneous variables that affect the final outcome....and it’s a modern miracle that the shows come together as well as they do.

Rollins chimed in, trying to get across just how hard it is to write five hours of live television every single week of the year.

What's next?

Seth Rollins will defend his Intercontinental Championship against his former ally Dean Ambrose at WWE TLC. After being betrayed by the Lunatic Fringe back in October, the Architect will finally get his hands on the man that stabbed him in the back this Sunday.

As far as the tumbling ratings of Monday Night Raw, the WWE will most likely get a boost at the beginning of the year as we move towards WrestleMania. Hopefully, they'll be able to pull some of the fans that they lost over the recent weeks back in.
