What's the story?

Seven Championships will be on the line on Friday night at The Greatest Royal Rumble and it seems that the Saudi Arabian crowd could witness a number of shock title changes as part of the show.

In case you didn't know...

WWE travels to Saudi Arabia for one of the biggest shows in wrestling over the past few years where seven Championships will be on the line in some of the most exciting matchups.

Brock Lesnar's second title defence in less than a month against Roman Reigns is one of these matches, as well as the match to crown new Raw Tag Team Champions after Braun Strowman and Nicholas were forced to vacate the titles a few weeks ago.

There also Championship matches concerning the Intercontinental Championship, United States, SmackDown Tag Team Championships, WWE Championship and even The Cruiserweight Championships will be on the line on Friday night, which opens the show up to a number of shocks.

The heart of the matter

There has been speculation over the past few days that both Jinder Mahal and The Miz could win their respective title matches on Friday night and take the Intercontinental and United States titles back to their original brands.

It seems that according to Dave Meltzer as part of The Wrestling Observer, these may not be the only potential title changes this week. (Transcript via Ringsidenews)

“Well, they’re going to get several [title changes]. They’re going to get the Raw Tag Team Title change no matter what. And yeah, they’re going to get some changes for sure.”

The Raw Tag Team Championships will definitely change hands on the night since they are currently vacant, but it was earlier reported that the ending for Lesnar vs Reigns is still up in the air, so that could also be another potential title change.

What's next?

The Greatest Royal Rumble takes place on Friday night live from The King Abdullah Sports City's King Abdullah International Stadium in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

The show will be streamed from 12 pm in the United States and 5 pm in the United Kingdom.

Author's take

The show has been criticised by a number of fans in recent weeks because of the time that the company has decided to present the show, which is on a Friday afternoon when many fans will still be at work.

Title changes will make fans feel worse about missing the show, but they could also add a number of swerves ahead of Backlash which is now less than two weeks away.
