Wrestling News: Bruce Prichard's "Something to Wrestle" podcast to tour the UK in July

Bruce Prichard’s podcast, Something to Wrestle

What’s the news?

Something To Wrestle with Bruce Prichard has been one of the most popular professional wrestling podcasts to come along in quite some time. According to a press release from the Managing Director of Hooked on Events, Paul Benson, Something to Wrestle will be touring the United Kingdom in July of this year.

In case you didn’t know...

Bruce Prichard’s podcast is among the most listened to wrestling podcasts today with around 400,000 weekly listeners worldwide. Bruce Prichard was a WWE executive and a former right-hand man of WWE Chairman, Vince McMahon. He has an incredibly storied career, as he spent more than twenty years with the company.

After leaving WWE in 2008, Prichard has spent time working for Impact Wrestling throughout that time. He is currently working for the company in an on-air role, as well as working in an advisory role backstage.

Spending that much time in the professional wrestling business, Prichard is in no short supply of interesting things to talk about on his podcast, and that may be why it has been so successful.

Since 2012, Hooked On Events have been hosting wildly successful pay-per-view parties and live shows across the United Kingdom to bring WWE fans closer together for the biggest shows of the year. Running events in eleven different cities to date for events such as Wrestlemania, Summerslam, Royal Rumble and NXT, Hooked On Parties have been attended by more than 8,000 passionate fans. Hooked On Events, Ltd. host more WWE pay-per-view parties than any other company in the United Kingdom.

The heart of the matter

Hooked On Events will be presenting, “Something to Wrestle with Bruce Prichard Live in the United Kingdom,” in July 2017. This mini-tour will bring the wildly successful podcast to the United Kingdom for the first time. The live podcast events will be held in London, Manchester, and Birmingham, England from July 16 through July 18.

The schedule of events is as follows:

July 16th: Birmingham, England at Around the World BarJuly 17th: Manchester, England at The Comedy StoreJuly 18th: London, England at Walkabout Temple Sports Bar

According to the press release, the shows in the United Kingdom will feature Prichard being grilled on key moments for WWE in the UK. This includes British stars to have an impact on WWE, major WWE events held in the United Kingdom, as well as a host of other topics that have never been discussed on Something to Wrestle.

Also, fans in attendance will have the opportunity to take part in a live edition of the #LoveToKnowQ&A, where they’ll be able to ask questions that they’ve wondered about for years. As Prichard is so fond of saying, “There’s only one other guy who was privy to all these stories. And he ain’t talking, pal!”

Paul Benson – Managing Director for Hooked on Events, Ltd. – said:

“We are so excited to be bringing ‘Something to Wrestle with Bruce Prichard’ to the UK. The show has proven immensely popular due to Bruce’s perspective and entertainment value. You never go away from an episode of the podcast without feeling both highly entertained and picking up some great wrestling stories. Our events will be a live, uncensored version of this immensely popular show.”

Bruce Prichard himself stated,

“I am thrilled to be coming over to bring Something To Wrestle to the UK for the first time. Everyone knows how passionate and knowledgeable the fans in the UK are and they have supported our podcast in the tens of thousands each week since we started. I’m asked on a daily basis when I am bringing live shows over there, and now I can say it’s on the way!”

The three exclusive events will also include VIP ‘Meet and Greet’ opportunities; photograph and autograph sessions, and almost certainly some of Bruce’s beloved wrestling impressions.

What’s next?

Ticket packages are available, starting from £25. Tickets go on sale at 10 am BST on Tuesday, April 4 from hookedonevents.co.uk, ringsideworld.co.uk and wegottickets.com.

Author’s Take

I envy all of the fans of Something to Wrestle in the United Kingdom very much right now. This should be a rousing success, and tickets will most certainly sell out if Bruce’s live show in Orlando this weekend is anything to go by.
