SK Exclusive: Shinsuke Nakamura expected to join SmackDown LIVE after WrestleMania 33

Nakamura is finally coming to the main roster

What's the story?

Shinsuke Nakamura is expected to join the SmackDown brand this Tuesday night on SmackDown from Orlando, FL.

In case you didn't know...

WWE held a press conference in Tokyo, Japan, on February 22, 2016, to officially announce the signing of Nakamura to WWE NXT. On April 1, Nakamura made his debut at NXT TakeOver: Dallas, where he defeated Sami Zayn, in a very well received match.

Nakamura then entered an undefeated streak, defeating Austin Aries at NXT TakeOver: The End, going all the way to the NXT Championship picture, where he defeated Samoa Joe at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn to win his first NXT Championship.

Nakamura and Joe would trade the title before Nakamura would drop it again in January to Bobby Roode at NXT TakeOver: San Antonio. Nakamura will face Roode this Saturday in an NXT Championship rematch, at NXT TakeOver: Orlando.

The heart of the matter

While many expect Nakamura to fail in his NXT Championship rematch on Saturday and wind up on Raw this Monday night, we at "Dirty Sheets" have reported that Nakamura will be debuting on WWE SmackDown Live this Tuesday.

What's next?

This is the biggest weekend of the year for the WWE, with Hall of Fame, NXT, WrestleMania, Raw and SmackDown.

Following a loss to Roode on Saturday, at NXT TakeOver: Orlando, we expect to see Nakamura debut for SmackDown on Tuesday night.

Author's take

You know that WWE have big plans for an individual when they introduce them with a press conference. Nakamura's main roster debut is long overdue. While it was necessary for him to carry the NXT brand as a touring brand for the past 12 months, Nakamura belongs on the WWE's main television product.

He mastered the WWE working style just weeks into his run, which isn't a surprise given his talent and experience. Nakamura isn't young talent. He is 36 years of age. The time is now for the WWE to get the most out of him.
