Monday Night Raw secured a decisive victory in the men's elimination match to win the night 4-3 thanks, largely, to the dominance of Braun Strowman who eliminated Shinsuke Nakamura, Bobby Roode and Mr Survivor Series himself, Randy Orton.

As the bout neared its conclusion, Shane McMahon, the Commissioner of SmackDown Live, was the last man left on his team, and he was faced with the daunting task of overcoming Triple H, Kurt Angle and Braun Strowman.

Although the Olympic Gold Medalist stepped up to face him, McMahon managed to hold his own and even get a few near falls. Alas, he fell prey to the ankle lock and was about to submit when his brother-in-law, Triple H, intervened and hit the Pedigree on Kurt Angle, allowing the Boy Wonder to cover the supine General Manager of Monday Night Raw.

However, there wasn't a feel-good story as the 14-time World Champion proceeded to Pedigree Shane and cover him. On the show, the announcers passed it off as Triple H merely attempting to steal the glory, but, in reality, he planted the seeds for a feud that should climax at WrestleMania 34.

The initial groundwork for this program was put in place when Triple H assaulted Jason Jordan, Kurt Angle's storyline son, and took the Indiana University product's place on Team Raw. During Survivor Series, Jordan even expressed a desire to see Triple H fall in the main event.

A feud between Triple H and Kurt Angle definitely has some potential, but fans of the Pittsburgh native will be left disappointed because, when push comes to shove, "the King of Kings" goes over.
