Strowman revealed in an interview with SiriusXM's Busted Open Radio, that it was Mark Henry who gave him his first break. The two men have remained friends since. Strowman also described himself as the last of a dying breed, the giants!
This is what he had to say about Henry helping him sign with WWE:
Truth be told, I wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for Mark Henry. I traveled around the world doing strongman competition. That's the first time I met Mark, back in 2010 when I competed as an amateur. I introduced myself and said I've always been a fan of his in WWE and what he's done in the strength sports world. We sparked a friendship from there and he pretty much turned WWE's eyes on me. Lo and behold, here we are today.
