Once you glimpse through these pages, you'll see that this was not just another week in wrestling, but a very eventful one. Let's glimpse through the highlights that transpired across the last week, and stay in tune with the world of sports entertainment.

#1 Sting returns to professional wrestling

The Stinger is back, this time as General Manager

We reported in an exclusive piece this week, that WWE and TNA Hall of Famer, Sting, who announced his retirement from the ring last year, will make a return to professional wrestling in a different role at Bytown Championship Wrestling, this September.

He will be joined by a host of big names from the wrestling world, including RVD, Trevor Lee, James Storm, John Morrison and many more. We hear that The Young Bucks may be a part of this grand event as well. The inaugural show will take place in Quebec, Canada.

Sting's career inside the ring ended after suffering a buckle bomb at the hands of Seth Rollins at Night of Champions in September, 2015. One of the most renowned wrestlers in history, Sting is notable for having made most of his name, outside the WWE. Fans will be thrilled at this big return of the iconic wrestler.

#2: Great news for popular WWE Superstar

Xavier Woods should be back in action, very soon indeed!
Xavier Woods should be back in action, very soon indeed!

On the heels of serious injuries to Superstars such as Big Cass and Samoa Joe, it was terrifying to hear that Xavier Woods may have joined the injury list as well, as video footage emerged on social media. He suffered his injury during a live event in Arkansas. Here is the clip of the same.

Viewer discretion is strongly advised.

We are glad to report that Woods' injury was just a sprain to the MCL, and while no return date has been specified yet, we are certain that he won't be out too long. Woods also confirmed his appearance at the Dragon Con Fest this weekend.

Looks like WWE can finally breathe a sigh of relief, and expect Wood to return to in-ring action soon.

#3 Mark Henry retires from wrestling

The World's Strongest Man is done, after a HOF worthy career

Mark Henry's big retirement announcement happened rather unceremoniously and in unspectacular fashion. He was a guest on the Sam Roberts podcast where he revealed that he is done with in-ring competition, but not with WWE.

He will still continue with the company in a backstage role. We're certain he's headed for the WWE Hall of Fame, very, very soon indeed. It's a pretty sad way to go out, without any fanfare.

In 21 years, Henry has achieved much between the ropes. He is a former WWE, ECW and European Champion. We wish him all the best for the next phase of his career, and hope he finds much contentment in his brand new role.

#4 No more JBL on Tuesday nights

It was fun while it lasted, Mr. JBL
It was fun while it lasted, Mr. JBL

While the WWE Universe is usually split with their opinion on JBL at the announcer's desk, we have learned that he will no longer be an integral part of SmackDown Live, every Tuesday night. JBL posted the following update on Twitter, and took social media by storm.

JBL, at the age of 50 will dedicate his life, to helping kids and communities at risk. He will still be a part of WWE programming, albeit in a minimal role, appearing on shows such as Tribute to the Troops and even at Wrestlemania.

We wish him all the best and hope he finds contentment in this new chapter of his life.

#5 Huge cage match announced for Raw

The Labor Day edition of Raw will be monstrous
The Labor Day edition of Raw will be monstrous

The Big Show has had a long and highly successful career, but he hardly ever got the 'this is awesome chants' during his matches, until he confronted the 'Monster Among Men'. Get ready for a titanic clash between the two men, on this coming week's edition of Raw, once again... this time, with a major twist. Show and Strowman will face one another inside a steel cage.

Remember how the ring collapsed, the last time these two men faced each other inside the squared circle?

Strowman was surprisingly absent last week on Raw, even though there was an appearance by "The Beast Incarnate", Brock Lesnar. Lesnar and Strowman will clash against one another in the main event of No Mercy, later this month for the Universal Championship.

#6 Dolph Ziggler's brother imprisoned for fifteen years

Donald Nemeth paid the price for his crimes
Donald Nemeth paid the price for his crimes

Donald Nemeth, the brother of WWE Superstar Dolph Ziggler, was sentenced to 15 years in prison for involuntary manslaughter. Nemeth and a fellow accomplice, Jack King, were found guilty of the death of a military veteran, Joshua Mascol. Mascol's death was caused due to a botched robbery, which resulted in sudden gunfire.

His family agreed that Donald was a good guy, and it was drugs that had made him the way he was. His aunt, Christine Basar, said the following

Had we have known he had a drug addiction, we would have surrounded him with the love that he needs. The Donny we know is a good and kind person without the drugs. Drugs just need to leave this whole country.

Let's hope that Ziggler can focus on his new gimmick for the time being, and that the matter with his brother does not distract him.

#7 Kurt Angle's in-ring return news confirmed?

Oh it's damn true!
Oh, it's damn true!

Kurt Angle wants to return to the ring, and soon. This time, he actually went as far as to say that he may be back, wrestling for WWE once again, as soon as later this year or early next year.

He added a disclaimer saying that ultimately it was all up to Vince McMahon. Check out the interview and see for yourself, guys!

Angle added that he wanted to face prospective opponents such as Triple H, John Cena, Brock Lesnar, Rusev, Braun Strowman and AJ Styles. Rest assured that when it does transpire, we will be on the ball, reporting the news as it happens.
