SKFabe: Hottest WWE news of the week (8th Oct, 2017)

This was a week filled with the hottest news!
This was a week filled with the hottest news!

This was not a good week for sports entertainment action, with poor live attendance and low ratings reflecting the same. However, the same cannot be said for the action outside the ring, which was hot, happening, and relentless, heading into Hell in a Cell weekend.

It was a task identifying and bringing you the seven most important news items from the host of happenings from across the sports entertainment world. However, we believe that we have been able to achieve our objective, after a lot of contemplation and skimming through the events of the week.

Without further ado, we present the hottest news of the week. If you believe we've missed out on something, let us know in the comments below.

#1 Massive return after 19 years

William Regal's announcement changed the WWE landscape for good!
William Regal's announcement changed the WWE landscape for good!

This is a major spoiler so if you like to catch your NXT action as it happens, we recommend you move to the next page right away. Else rejoice in the fact that the WarGames concept will be making a comeback to WWE after nearly two decades (if you don't count the WarGames 2000 match, that is).

NXT Takeover: Houston on Survivor Series weekend now has a new name. It will be known as NXT Takeover: WarGames instead. The main event of the NXT Takeover special will showcase SAnitY vs. The Undisputed Era vs. The Authors of Pain and Roderick Strong, in a very strange sort of alliance.

Son of the format founder Dusty Rhodes, Cody Rhodes also sent his blessings for WarGames to be brought back into the public eye, with NXT after Triple H had a conversation with him. He believes that it will be handled with total care.

The reactions to WarGames alone warrant an article of their own, really. Let's move on and check out the other WWE news from this explosive week.

#2 Sasha Banks to join The Club?

She does not quite have the look, though!
She does not quite have the look, though!

Gallows and Anderson came into WWE with a lot of steam, but have since lost almost all their momentum through their time on the main roster. They were interviewed by The Daily Mirror and asked who they would like as a third member of The Club.

The duo immediately said that Finn Balor would be a good choice, considering that he was already aligned with them as a member of The Bullet Club. However, they did bring up yet another name and said that Sasha Banks would be a cool addition to The Club, not just as a performer, but as a manager too!

Of course, when asked, Seth Rollins also said, not very long ago, that he would like Sasha Banks as a member of The Shield if they ever had to hire a female member. Looks like Sasha Banks has two open invitations!

#3 Undertaker to make yet another WWE appearance

Fans in Uniondale, NY, are in for a real treat!
Fans in Uniondale, NY, are in for a real treat!

There has been much speculation with regard to whether or not The Undertaker was done in WWE. It turns out that we do not have an answer with regard to his wrestling career, but his association with the company is just as strong as it ever was.

On Friday, December 8th, fans can get a chance to meet and interact with The Undertaker at Ace Comic-Con in Uniondale, NY. Tickets will have to be purchased well in advance for this event, so we recommend that if you plan on visiting, get your tickets now.

#4 Lita to join Team Xtreme once again?

This would be the ultimate mark out moment!
This would be the ultimate mark out moment!

Nostalgia is a very important factor for fans of sports entertainment and WWE. Once upon a time, it was impossible to think about The Hardy Boyz and not think of Lita as the third member of the high flying group.

Unfortunately, things are not nearly as sweet between Lita and Matt Hardy as it was during the Attitude Era when they were very much in love. However, Lita said that she was open to the idea of a Team Xtreme reunion, for one night only.

All I want to say is keep your eyes open if you see a third member with whomever the Hardyz are facing. If there's someone interfering and messing around with them and there needs to be an equaliser for a potential "one night only attraction", I think that would be a lot of fun.

This reunion seems like it's still a long way away, considering Jeff Hardy is injured. Let's move on to yet another piece of news, and keep going!

#5 Chris Jericho is not retiring just yet

The lord of the list still has much to offer
The lord of the list still has much to offer

Despite the fact that Chris Jericho may just be the most 'over' wrestler in the world right now, it is no secret that he is 46 years old, as we write these lines. During an edition of The Ross Report, the possibility of retirement was brought up by the legendary commentator.

Chris Jericho would immediately suggest that he had a lot more left in the tank. This is what he said to good ol' JR:

No, I am not there; never. The last run I had in 2016 with Kevin Owens and the Festival of Friendship and all that stuff, it was one of my favorite runs, one of my top two favorite runs.

Jericho maintained that he's only stepped away from the company for a short while. He should be back in action again in some time.

#6 Bret Hart was brutal towards Eric Bischoff

The Hitman did not mince his words about Eric Bischoff
The Hitman did not mince his words about Eric Bischoff

Following the Montreal Screwjob, Bret Hart quit WWE for a run with the rival brand, WCW. Eric Bischoff was the Executive Vice President for the company during that run.

Bischoff compared Hart to a broken toy, during his WCW run. Hart was vicious and said the following, during his appearance on the Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast:

I could strangle him when I hear him say that, because that is so not true. I was so on fire. I wanted to take the world on.

The delivered the following nail in the coffin to the man synonymous with the success of WCW:

He was the worst loser maggot that ever got into wrestling.

Looks like some fences cannot be mended, so let's move on to the final item in this week's edition of SKFabe. This bit of news is far more blissful than everything you've just read.

#7 Alexa Bliss may move to Hollywood

Will Alexa Bliss be the company's next John Cena?
Will Alexa Bliss be the company's next John Cena?

WWE has lost many talented superstars to Hollywood. At the same time, their presence in the mainstream world has brought many new eyes to the product. Alexa Bliss seems to be the latest in line to head to Tinsel Town.

In an interview with Hollywoodlife, she said the following:

Absolutely, I never realised until I came to the WWE that I love to act. I would love to at some point cross over and bring a mix of WWE fans and mainstream fans together. I would love do something like that – or have my own little talk show on the WWE Network! I would love to test the waters and see what happens.

Bliss also said that she wanted a chance to work with Bradley Cooper. Just so that she could tell others that she had worked with the man, in a film.

That concludes our weekly edition of SKFabe. Join us again next week, for more news, updates and happenings from sports entertainment. Do you think The Shield will reunite next week on RAW? Let us know in the comments section, guys!
