The Jinder Mahal experiment does not seem to be working

The go-home episode of SmackDown Live saw Jinder Mahal pin crowd favourite AJ Styles, and WWE Champion Randy Orton take on Baron Corbin in the main event. Not surprisingly, the show was an absolute failure, with only 2175000 viewers, as compared to 2348000 viewers, the previous week (even though it was a taped show).
These are distressing signs for the blue brand, and will definitely cause the top brass to rethink their strategy with regard to creative direction, on SmackDown Live.
