Shinsuke Nakamura is the current Intercontinental Champion.

It's extremely ludicrous and ridiculous that fans haven't witnessed Reigns and Shinsuke Nakamura wrestle one-on-one inside a WWE ring. This is one of the biggest dream matches we haven't seen yet and now is the most opportune time pull the trigger on this dream feud. Nakamura recently won the Intercontinental Championship from Finn Balor at Extreme Rules and Reigns would love to have a shot at the Intercontinental Championship.

Given that Kofi Kingston is a babyface WWE Champion, it makes perfect sense for Reigns to pursue the Intercontinental Championship. The Intercontinental Championship hasn't been given the spotlight it deserves and has been overshadowed by the World titles. WWE needs to find a way to restore prestige and honor into the title again.

Nakamura vs Reigns could accomplish the goal of making the IC title relevant again. Reigns is the Big Dog and Nakamura is the King of Strong Style. Their opposing styles and strategies would make for great matches and an intriguing rivalry.
