#2 New Day win two Triple Threat matches in one night to become the longest-reigning WWE Tag Team Champions in history
On the December 12th, 2016 episode of Monday Night RAW, the New Day had to win a Triple Threat match to become the longest reigning WWE Tag Team Champions in history. Kofi Kingston and Big E defeated The Bar and the Good Brothers, Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows, to successfully defend the RAW Tag Team titles.
However, when their celebration backstage drew the ire of RAW Commissioner Stephanie McMahon, the New Day were once again forced to defend their gold in a second Triple Threat match.
Xavier Woods and Big E were challenged by the teams of Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho, as well as Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns. This encounter was tougher than their first defense, but the New Day were somehow able to defeat the two teams and win to become the longest reigning champions in history.
Although they would lose the titles to The Bar six days later at Roadblock 2016, the accomplishment still stands today. Their legacy was built on this achievement. It would be their most famous moment, until one of the members was able to get an even bigger victory three years later.
