The biggest winners and losers from last night's Raw (May 21)

Bobby Lashley's sisters segment
Worse than bad, but let's just go with that for now.

Last night's Raw was..."bad" would be too kind. It was the worst Raw of the year so far by no small margin. Filled with terrible segments and mostly random matches that were hard to care about, did anyone manage to walk away from this train wreck unscathed, let alone with goodwill from fans?

Loser: Roman Reigns

The first hour of Raw was basically the "use everyone onboard to get Roman Reigns over" hour. Stephanie was used. People weren't booing her.

Kevin Owens was used. During the opening segment, the crowd booed the ostensible face in favor of the heel.

Jinder Mahal was used, and to Jinder's credit, he did get boos, but Reigns didn't get many cheers.

Seth Rollins was used, and while the Intercontinental Champion remains immensely popular, following a post-match beatdown on the two by Jinder Mahal, Roman Reigns was booed heavily as soon as his music was played.

Each attempt felt desperate as the "Roman Reigns is despised by management" story continues, a story fans know has no basis in reality. Each segment insults fans' intelligence, so it's getting the appropriate response.

And now Roman Reigns will officially face Jinder Mahal at Money in the Bank...in Chicago. Good luck on that one.

When is the plug finally going to be pulled on this ongoing disaster?

Losers: Bobby Lashley and Sami Zayn

I wondered yesterday just how bad this segment was going to be, and unfortunately, all of my worst expectations were met. This was an abomination. It was indeed on the level of Roman Reigns' Jack and the Beanstalk promo, the Old Day segment, and Bayley: This is Your Life. If this isn't the runaway choice for the worst segment of 2018, this company is doing something terribly, terribly wrong.

The segment obviously did nothing for Bobby Lashley, who I now view as a joke. He was being booked as one beforehand and this solidified his status. As for Sami Zayn, it only made me want him on my television even less. His heel act is good, but the company has been doing next to nothing with him since his turn and he's worsening, rather than bettering, the content.

Winners: The "B Team"

The "B Team" look like they're getting some kind of push. It's probably only for them to be humiliated by Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt, Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler, or the Authors of Pain, but they're getting a push for now.

Speaking of, what is the tag team division doing? It sure would be nice to start building to both tag team title matches at Money in the Bank right now.

Losers: Nia Jax and Ronda Rousey

Did this segment make me excited for the Raw Women's Championship match at Money in the Bank? No. Neither Nia Jax nor Ronda Rousey are good with a microphone in their hands, so Stephane McMahon was used to paper over the weaknesses, but as usual, the segment became more about her than the wrestlers in it. Why are two babyfaces tolerating the intrusive manipulation of an obvious heel? Ronda Rousey, in particular, looked like she was played for a fool by the woman she just humiliated at WrestleMania.

The only good thing from this would be if it acts as a catalyst for a Nia Jax heel turn, because playing the babyface doesn't suit her, especially now that she's no longer feuding with the top heel in the Raw women's division, Alexa Bliss.

Winner: Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler

Dolph Ziggler may have been the one to beat Chad Gable, but it was Drew McIntyre that looked like the star of the segment.

Anyway, the team has certainly established themselves by now. Where do they go from here? It's time to start slowly building them up to something, some sort of glory before the team inevitably falls apart and Drew can strike out on his own. Let's hope that begins next week.

Winner: Natalya

As expected, Natalya qualified for the Money in the Bank ladder match by tapping out Sarah Logan in the Sharpshooter.

More tellingly, was how WWE plastered her friendship with Ronda Rousey for everyone to see. My prediction as of now is that Natalya will win the Money in the Bank contract, as her words implied, and somehow screw Ronda Rousey out of the Raw Women's Championship with it. It wouldn't be the worst course of action. It would be Natalya's biggest run of her career, and it looks like it got started last night.
