The Shield isn't breaking up as the group prepares for a face turn

Unbreakable!!!

Unbreakable!!!

For a couple of months now, it looked like that a break up among WWE’s most talented group – The Shield, is imminent. The first seeds of dissension were sown when Dean Ambrose started to grow jealous of Roman Reigns’ success. Last week, Seth Rollins also hinted towards a break up when he told Reigns that he is tired of being the “glue” that keeps him and Ambrose together, and then walked out of the match.

This particular moment looked like the final straw but then on SmackDown after letting it all out from their system by hitting each other in the face and then holding out their fists together, The Shield made it clear to the fans that they all are on the same page now.

And then on Raw they completely dismissed fans’ assumptions about their break up and also of a triple threat match at WrestleMania XXX by doing their signature fist pose together again in the middle of the ring after defeating The Rhodes Brothers in a tag team match.

With no break up among The Shield in recent future, it was time for the WWE to book a new rival for them right in time for WrestleMania XXX, and it was in the form of Corporate Kane, the man who, as the Director of Operations, has been giving orders to The Shield. After a backstage segment on Raw, which saw Kane telling The Shield to prove themselves after their losses against the Wyatt Family, another backstage segment between them followed up on SmackDown where Kane ordered them to be at ringside during his main event match with the Big Show.

The Shield responded by telling Kane that they don’t take orders from him but they will be out there because it’s best for business. They were present at the ringside but they let Big Show pin Kane after a chokeslam, leaving the big red monster frustrated at them who then tried to give a chokeslam to Rollins but Reigns broke Kane’s hold with a spear and The Shield ended the show by standing over him.

Time to entertain the crowd

Time to entertain the crowd

The Shield’s night didn’t end there, after knocking out Kane they started to have fun with the crowd and went on to mock the Wyatt Family as Reigns sat on a rocking chair just like Bray Wyatt and Rollins wore Erick Rowan’s sheep mask. The Shield’s fun interaction with the crowd on SmackDown totally hints towards a face switch. The crowd started to cheer them after their outstanding matches against the Wyatt Family and it looks like that WWE is going to focus on the crowd’s reaction towards The Shield and turn the “Hounds of Justice” into face, just like they turned Batista heel after the crowd didn’t stop booing him.

The ending of this week’s SmackDown has answered many important questions – The Shield are staying together, they are turning face and their WrestleMania XXX opponent is Kane, who has to find some strong partners and also his wrestling attire. Turning Shield face is a great idea, especially when you see how much people enjoy watching them (even though they have been heel all this time) and when it comes to entertainment they even surpass the Wyatt Family. It looks like that there are good times ahead for The ‘united’ Shield.
