In the exciting build up to WWE Clash of Champions 2019, fans are ecstatic to witness some intriguing clashes. The next pay-per-view in line is Hell in a Cell, a special show which never fails to mesmerize the millions of WWE fanatics.

Hell in a Cell matchup is known to be brutal, vicious and utterly entertaining. Over the years, many greats of the game have participated in such kind of bouts. One legend who's participated in the most number of Hell in a Cell matches in the history is none other than the Phenom, The Undertaker.

He's competed 14 times inside the cubicle and with eight wins under his belt, he's also the most successful player of all time as far as Hell in a Cell matches are concerned. Without further ado, here we list down The Undertaker's top five clashes as part of the Hell in a Cell.


#5 A Rated-R Escapade - SummerSlam (2008)

The Undertaker and Edge had been at loggerheads on SmackDown for the early part of 21st Century and their rivalry produced some classic bouts. Both legends were often found vying for the World Heavyweight Championship and their long list of battles concerning the big prize gave the WWE Enthusiasts numerous iconic moments to cherish.

It was in 2008 when the two went to war in a Hell in a Cell structure for the mega prize - The World Heavyweight Championship. Edge was coming back from a loss at the hands of Triple H at The Great American Bash and looked determined at becoming the new World Heavyweight Champion but The Phenom had other plans.

The gruelling battle lasted for almost half an hour before The Undertaker delivered a vicious Tombstone Piledriver on Edge for the win. The Phenom retained the title and continued his rivalry with Edge post-SummerSlam (2008).

#4 The one where the Ortons went to hell - Armageddon (2005)

Back in 2005, Randy Orton was trying to make a name for himself on the Blue Brand by taking out the big fish - The Undertaker. Taker is one of the most respected WWE Superstars of all-time and things were no different back then.

At Armageddon in 2005, Randy Orton was accompanied by his father, Bob Orton to the ring as The Viper looked to slay The Undertaker inside the steel structure. The former Evolution member had never participated in a Hell in a Cell match whereas his opponent for the night had already been involved in as many as six Hell in a Cell matches prior to Armageddon (2005).

Bob Orton was hardly a mere spectator as he time and again intervened in the match and almost helped his son win the bout but Undertaker somehow managed to fend off the Orton duo to score the pin and walk out as the winner.

Randy Orton was appreciated by the WWE enthusiasts for his efforts inside the cell as he nearly defeated the Phenom in his debut encounter.

The Undertaker battled some of the finest names at WrestleMania- a place where he holds a mighty impressive record of 24-2. The Phenom's record at the grandest stage of them all truly underlines his legendary status within the company and it is no secret that some of finest names of the industry have come short against Taker at the Showcase of Immortals.

Of all the legendary Superstars to have battled The Undertaker at WrestleMania, there was one man faced the deadman in three different WrestleManias. The man being talked about is Triple H - who very nearly broke the streak in 2011 as well as in 2012.

Their colossal clash in 2012 was no ordinary encounter as the two stalwarts battled in Hell in a Cell with Shawn Michaels as the special guest referee. Undertaker's streak looked in serious jeopardy but The Phenom somehow managed to grasp the win and reign victorious over Triple H yet again.

The Phenom executed a devastating Tombstone Piledriver on Triple H to keep the streak alive and bring about one of the greatest matches in Hell in a Cell history.

Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker have had a phenomenal rivalry - one has brought about numerous moments to cherish. Back in 2002, Lesnar, also known as the Beast was the hottest prospect on either brand and took the company by a storm thanks to his imposing physique, brute strength and spine-chilling aura. Brock Lesnar captured the WWE Championship by defeating The Rock at SummerSlam in 2002.

The next man in line to take on Brock Lesnar was The Undertaker, who battled Brock Lesnar in numerous pay-per-views for the WWE Championship. The animosity between the two reached an all-time high at No Mercy in 2002 where they battled inside the cell.

Brock Lesnar, accompanied by Paul Heyman walked into his very first Hell in a Cell match, an encounter which is still remembered as one of the most fascinating, gruelling and intense matches to have ever been conducted inside squared circle.

The high octane clash saw both men deliver their signature moves to perfection but in the end, it was Brock Lesnar who prevailed after delivering a thunderous F5 on the American Badass to retain his WWE Title.

The Undertaker faced Mick Foley at King of the Ring in 1998 in what is one of the most talked-about matches of all time. The famous encounter had a special zeal to it right from the beginning as the two men climbed to the top of the cell straight after the bell rang and rest, as they say, is history.

Mick Foley sustained numerous injuries on the course of the match and the WWE Universe was truly astonished upon witnessing the hardcore legend's grit and sheer persistence. The King of Hardcore was forced to seek medical help midway as he was thrown from the top of the cell by The Deadman onto the announcers' table. This got a lot of people out to the arena, including Vince McMahon.

The situation got extremely intense as Mick Foley was wheeled out on a stretcher but the man's passion overcame the immense pain as he suddenly got off the stretcher and walked his way back to the cell, or rather on top of the cell where the two battled yet again.

It was then when The Undertaker choke slammed Mick Foley through the cell to shock the entire wrestling fraternity. The instance is reckoned as one of the most brutal yet famous moments in the history of sports entertainment.

Despite such massive blows, Mick Foley kept going but came up short in the end as The Undertaker prevailed following a Tombstone Piledriver which marked the end of this historic feud.
