#2 WWF Rage in Cage is released – 21st December 1993
While WWE’s 2K series might be a big hit with the fans owing to its incredible user experience, the earlier professional wrestling video games are incomparable to the current versions – Take a look at WWF Rage in Cage which was released in 1993 and was the first WWF game to feature actual video footage.
Featuring 20 wrestlers including the likes of Bret Hart, Randy Savage and the Undertaker, the 16-bit game had a standard match, a no holds barred match, a tournament mode and a steel cage match.
There were no tag team modes available, but the 20-wrestler roster would remain the biggest to be released in a game for six years.
