Total Nonstop Action has started making some really interesting changes within the company with Billy Corgan as the new president of TNA, and yes you read that correctly Dixie Carter is no longer the president but instead, has now been given the position of Chairman, and Chief Strategy Officer of TNA. Hence, Billy Corgan will be dealing with the day-to-day operations of TNA, while Dixie Carter will be dealing with long-term planning, strategic partnerships, and global growth.

But, this is just one of the reforms within the company. The other development includes TNA unveiling a new championship belt known as, The Grand Championship.
This championship will be fought for under MMA-like rules with rounds, and if the fight goes beyond the fixed time limit then the judges will have the final say regarding the winner. The King of the Mountain Title is being replaced with the Grand Championship, as it was never made clear what The King of the Mountain title stood for, and was rarely defended during King of the Mountain matches, making the existence of the belt seem pointless.
The now-defunct titles like the Global Championship, Legends Championship, and the T.V. Championship, also failed to gain popularity when they were used on TNA programming — thus, making the KOTM title suffer the same fate.
The Grand Championship could really help in making TNA stand out from other competitors or end up making them look a bit silly. But, TNA has so far achieved a significant rise in their viewership because of all the whacky things they’re trying to do (Delete!) thus, maybe this new title will also help TNA in creating some really good storylines and memorable matches for this particular title.
