TNA News: Bobby Roode, Eric Young released from company

Bobby Roode, left, and Eric Young have long been among the top performers on the TNA roster.

The TNA roster lost two of its top competitors this weekend, as Bobby Roode and Eric Young were released from the company.

That comes from a release posted to the TNA website. The release states that the company and the two wrestlers had “come to terms” on a release.

No reason was given, although statements were received from both men, with Roode and Young wishing the other men and women on the TNA roster well and Roode saying it is “time for me to move on.” The timing would be perceived as odd, with Roode holding the promotion’s tag titles alongside James Storm, who just recently returned after a stint in the WWE’s NXT brand. Young is also listed as the current King of the Mountain champion, although both men reportedly dropped their titles at Saturday’s taping.

The two men are also among the top performers in the company’s tumultuous history.

Young had a message for fans on his Twitter page.

TNA has tried to rejuvenate its product since Impact Wrestling moved to the Pop television channel in the United States earlier this year. Most recently, Drew Galloway cashed in a title shot to get the company’s top title off of a heel Matt Hardy.
