4. Chris Benoit
“The Rabid Wolverine” started feuding with Jericho when he started pursuing the Intercontinental title. Both these stars competed against each other in three consecutive Pay-Per-Views at Backlash, Judgment Day and SummerSlam.
Here were two future greats exhibiting their skill and natural flair inside the ring. These two were natural opponents with Benoit’s no-nonsense attitude and Jericho’s brash and cocky style perfectly complementing each other during the feud. When Y2J made fun of Benoit’s name and teeth, Benoit would come out and let his maneuvers do the talking.
This feud culminated finally at Summer Slam 2000, where Jericho and Benoit had arguably one of the best Ladder matches in the history of WWE . In the end, Jericho defeated Benoit to win the Intercontinental title for the fourth time. This even led to these two forming a tag team out of respect for each other.
