Top 5 most decorated female Superstars in the WWE

Will Ronda Rousey retain at ' Mania?
Will Ronda Rousey retain at ' Mania?

Rumors are circulating that this year's Wrestlemania will be headlined by a triple threat match featuring Ronda Rousey, Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch for the RAW Women's Championship. It would be a great achievement for the women of WWE to finally main event Wrestlemania especially considering that the Women's/Diva's title was never exactly a top priority in the WWE till the start of the Women's revolution.

With WWE creating separate Women's titles for RAW and SmackDown, a number of wrestlers have gotten the opportunity to carry the gold - something which the Smackdown divas never got to do when the Women's title was exclusive to RAW during the early to mid-2000s. Charlotte has won titles on both RAW and SmackDown and there is a chance that after 'Mania, she will create yet another WWE Women's record.

With one more title run in the company, Charlotte will become the single most decorated woman in the WWE - It is a mystery as to why WWE hasn't added this caveat to the build-up for the title match at Wrestlemania.

This list takes a look at Charlotte and four other most decorated women in WWE history in terms of Women's titles won.

#5. Melina - 5 titles

During her 6 year stint with the WWE, Melina has won the Divas title twice and the Women's title three times. Unlike most of the other female wrestlers in the WWE during the mid-2000s, Melina was a trained wrestler, impressing WWE officials with her natural ability.

After a stint in Tough Enough 3 and then Ohio Valley Wrestling, Melina would debut on the main roster in 2005, as the manager of Johnny Nitro and Joey Mercury, with the trio being known as MNM. After managing Nitro and Mercury to multiple tag team title reigns, Melina would enter singles competition next year.

After getting traded to RAW, she would beat Mickie James to win her first Women's title, holding it for just over a month before losing it back to James at a Live event. Melina would receive a rematch on the same night and reclaimed her title, starting her second reign.

She would successfully defend the title at Wrestlemania 23 against Ashely Massaro before surprisingly losing it to Candice Michelle at 2007 Vengeance. Her final Women's title reign would begin at the Royal Rumble 2009 after beating Beth Phoenix.

Melina would also win two Divas Championships, once against Jillian Hall and then against Alicia Fox.

#4. Alexa Bliss - 5 titles

Tied with Melina at 5 title reigns, but taking the fourth spot in this article because of more days as Champion is 'Five feet of fury' - Alexa Bliss. The only woman other than Charlotte to win both the RAW and SmackDown Women's Championships, Alexa has been one of the most important players in the WWE during the 'Women's evolution'.

She debuted on SmackDown in 2016 without much fanfare but eventually got over with her heelish persona. This would lead to a SmackDown women's title run after beating Becky Lynch in a Tables match at TLC 2016. She would beat Lynch once again in early 2017 to win the title for the second time after the title was vacated due to Naomi's injury.

After losing her title at Wrestlemania, Bliss would move on to RAW, where it was feared that she would be lost in a roster involving Sasha Banks and Bayley. But she confounded expectations yet again after taking the RAW Women's titles off both Bayley and Banks during her time there.

At 2018 Money in the Bank, Bliss would win the eponymous briefcase and would cash in on Nia Jax on the same night to win her fifth title in the company.

#3. Mickie James - 6 titles

It is difficult for the new generation of WWE viewers to digest that Mickie James was once the face of WWE Women's division. Treated more like a workhorse jobber during her current stint in the WWE, James was handpicked by management to carry the division after the retirement of Trish Stratus and Lita in the mid-2000s.

Mickie would win her first Women's title from Trish at Wrestlemania and would also take the title off Lita, Melina, Beth Phoenix, Michelle McCool before beating Maryse to win her only Divas Championship in 2009.

James would then leave the WWE to have a run in TNA, winning their Women's title three times. She is the most accomplished wrestler in this list, having won a total of 21 major and minor Women's titles during her career. She might not win another Women's title in the WWE, but her greatness is secure

#2. Charlotte Flair - 7 titles

The undisputed main event player in the eyes of the WWE management, Charlotte Flair has rarely been out of the Women's title picture during her four years on the main roster. She won her first title after ending Nikki Bella's record-breaking Divas Championship run in 2016 and started a lengthy title reign of her own, defeating all comers.

She would retain her title in a highly acclaimed Wrestlemania match against Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch after which the Divas title would be replaced by the WWE Women's Championship. WWE counts this as a separate title run for Charlotte, even though the title design was merely changed.

Flair would then start a singles feud with Sasha Banks which saw the title change hands six times in a matter of a few months. After the feud, Charlotte had become a five-time Champion in the WWE and created another record with a run of 16 straight victorious PPVs.

Her PPV record would end at the hands of Bayley at 2017 Fastlane. She would fail to recapture the RAW Women's title from Bayley at that year's Wrestlemania but would taste more success after moving on to SmackDown and winning titles off both Natalya and Carmella.

#1. Trish Stratus - 7 titles

Trish Stratus tops the list
Trish Stratus tops the list

Taking the top spot in this list on the basis of actually winning 7 titles in the ring - rather than a title being renamed to start a new reign in the case of Charlotte - Trish Stratus is still the greatest Women's Champion in history as of now before the Queen inevitably breaks her record.

A dominant Champion with 7 title reigns, Stratus has also held the title for nearly double the number of days than Charlotte. The mainstay of the Women's division for a five year period from 2001 - 2006, Trish even had a 448-day reign as Champion in 2004-05.

Successfully transitioning herself from eye candy to Champion, Trish first won the title for the first time in a six-pack challenge at Survivor Series 2001. She would then beat Jazz, Molly Holly, Victoria (2) and Lita (2) to win the Women's title on six more occasions.

Her final full-time match would see her retire in the best way possible - beating Lita to win the title at her home town of Toronto, Canada.
