What happened to Shinsuke Nakamura making the United States title great again?

Lets be honest here.

There is absolutely nothing happening in the United States title picture right now, and while WWE might change that in the future, they currently seem to just want it to be something that Shinsuke Nakamura carries around. Not only is that a huge disservice to the fans that want to see more, it's also far less than what the legendary title deserves.

Unfortunately for The WWE Universe, WWE continues to turn the United States title into an afterthought, and it hasn't even been defended much lately. In fact, WWE seemed like they would originally do a Nakamura versus Randy Orton for the title, but The Viper turned his attention to Jeff Hardy for one reason or nothing.

With that being said, it's absolutely devastating what WWE has done to a title that they claimed to want to make great again. Furthermore, the title run doesn't help Nakamura at all, especially since he hardly defends it, and the only way to get momentum back behind the title is to probably get it off of Nakamura as soon as possible.
