Top 5 outrageous hairstyles in WWE history

Appearance has always taken the front seat in the world of sports entertainment. You might be good with your skill set, however, if you don’t appeal to the WWE universe, you are not going anywhere near that ‘main event’ spot.

So, in this Top 5 countdown, we take a look at all those wrestlers that have tried to impress the WWE universe with their hairdo’s and miserably failed in the process.

5) Tyson Kidd

Tyson Kidd

For someone who came from ‘The Hart Dungeon’, Tyson Kidd certainly failed to live up to our expectations. He has had a torrid time in the WWE ever since his highly anticipated debut and is currently nursing an injury.

Initially, when the ‘Hart Dynasty’ made their WWE debut, there were two things that stood apart. One was the beautiful Natalya, the other being Tyson Kidd’s outrageous hairstyle.

Much like the comic hero TinTin, Kidd sported a frontal spiked hair. But the catch was that there was absolutely nothing else around it. He often spiked it during his matches as well. However, during the course of the match, they fell flat just like his WWE career.

4) Stone Cold Steve Austin

Stunning Steve Austin

The ‘Texas Rattlesnake’ Stone Cold Steve Austin is one name that is synonymous with the WWE.

He was a bald Texan Redneck and a tough ‘SOB’ that drank beer and stunned anything that moved in the ring.

However, he had his humble beginnings in the WCW with his ‘stunning Steve Austin’ gimmick, that sported long blonde locks on a head that already faced severe hairline issues.

And yes, he featured in a tag team that called themselves the ‘Hollywood Blondes’ (WHAT!?)

3) Scotty 2 Hotty

Scotty 2 Hotty

Scotty 2 Hotty, in my opinion has always been one of those talents that the WWE wasted.

He could twist and move and do what not to entertain the WWE universe (Remember the Worm-ie?). However, at the peak of his WWE career, Scotty sported a spiked up version of his blonde hair, that looked like he fit his head right through a night lamp cap.

Despite all the dancing, the grooving and the entertainment that the ‘too cool’ stable brought, Scotty’s hairstyle was something that was certainly far away from being cool.

2) Ric Flair

Wooo

The ‘Nature Boy’ Ric Flair is arguably one of the greatest wrestlers ever.

He has toured all around the world showcasing his wrestling skills to enthral the fans. However, Flair’s hairstyle was far away from impressing anybody.

Flair sported what can be aptly described as a ‘cotton candy-isqe’ hairstyle back in the early 90s.

We absolutely have no issues with Flair’s feathered and fabulous looking hair. It’s just that when he bladed himself during matches, like he did almost all his life, the sight gets a little disgusting to bear. Totally not ‘Woo’able’ stuff!

1) Heath Slater

Heath Slater

If there is one list that the ‘one man band’ can top, it is this one.

Heath Slater looked like he had a promising WWE career with the Nexus stint. He was a key member of the stable until they disbanded. It is after this that his career went downwards with the ‘one man band’ gimmick.

Slater sported a straightened, long and silky version of his ‘red locks’ that made him look like a model for a conditioner commercial.

Slater initially came into the WWE with a shorter version of his red hairstyle and hasn’t stopped growing it since. If he has any ideologies of cutting his hair only if he wins a match, then that is not bound to happen any time soon.

Slater’s hairstyle is certainly silky and smooth, however Slater’s WWE career is anything but that!
