The perfect start to an unforgettable trilogy.

The beginning of probably the best trilogy of matches in the tag team division, the Triangle Ladder match at WrestleMania 2000 was the only bright spot in a rather disappointing WrestleMania. Edge and Christian had been feuding with The Hardy Boyz for a long time, including their first ladder match at No Mercy in 1999. The addition of The Dudley Boys not only added a third element to the feud but also increased the buzz of the match as the Tag Team Titles now became the center of attention.

The first of the three main matches on the show, this contest was a chaotic sequence of events for almost 23 minutes. Right from the opening bell, the match was an epilogue to the hardcore battle royale as ladders were introduced from the word go. The match was full of spectacular moments - Edge speared Jeff off the top of the ladder, The Dudley's hit consecutive 3-Ds on both Edge and Christian and The Dudley's introduced tables and proceeded to slam both Hardy's through the tables.

The moment of the match came when Jeff hit a Swanton Bomb on Bubba Ray through a table from a Ladder outside the ring. With a table placed between the ladders inside the ring, Edge and Christian knocked down Matt to unhook the belt and become the Tag Team Champions for the first time.
