Carmella's new gimmick might not be everyone's cup of tea. But it surely is a welcome change for the two-time Money in the Bank winner. First, she attacked and talked some trash about the current WWE SmackDown Women's Champion, Sasha Banks. Then, it was time for the former "Princess of Staten Island" to back up her boastful claims inside the squared circle.
In her first WWE match in nearly eight months, Carmella challenged Banks for the title on the latest episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown. But "The Boss" lost control of herself and unleashed a beating on the former WWE 24/7 Champion. The referee ruled the bout in the latter's favor via a disqualification, but the title did not change hands.
It was a perfect return match for Carmella, as she got to showcase her in-ring skills and look strong without winning the championship. From here on out, expect her to thrive with this new persona.

Ali Siddiqui is a listicle and feature writer for Sportskeeda Wrestling since 2018. After completing his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, he decided to write for Sportskeeda Wrestling after learning about it through a friend. He briefly worked for The Sportster as well.
Ali's love for pro wrestling dates back to when Randy Orton won a Battle Royal to become the #1 Contender for the World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam 2004. His current favorite wrestler is Cody Rhodes because he's the ultimate throwback babyface. He believes Rhodes has the Surfer Sting's passion, Bret Hart's prop-gifting schtick, a catchy theme like Hogan's, and a kid-friendly demeanor akin to John Cena's.
When he is not doing research for his articles on Google or catching up with the latest in pro wrestling, Ali can be found honing his Data Science and AI skills as he strives to get back into tech in the near future.
