Top 5 WWE Rumors of the Week - 30th April 2018

The rumor roundup of the week is back and true to form there have been a whole variety of juicy wrestling based gossip coming out of the WWE with main event pushes, new tag-teams and Undertaker related injuries to cover

Before we get there though here's the traditional recap of last week's rumor mill from the 23rd April 2018. Last week we covered the reason Alexa Bliss has been out of action, when Dean Ambrose is expected to return and Keith Lee's suspected WWE status.

#5 Elias set for a Universal Title shot?

Is 'The Drifter' going to reach great heights?

Elias may be killing it with his 'Walk With Elias' schtick and enigmatic concert based promos and it seems that this hasn't gone unnoticed by some top WWE officials who are impressed with the Raw Superstar.

In fact top WWE officials are so impressed that rumors suggest the musically gifted heel is set for a top push on Monday Nights propelling him into the main event picture and possibly even earning him a Universal Title shot.

#4 The Undertaker injures Aiden English?

Did the Undertaker get a Tombstone wrong?

At the Greatest Royal Rumble, it appeared that the Undertaker may have gotten a Tombstone Piledriver horribly wrong and injured Aiden English, with several people reporting that he was helped to the back by WWE officials after getting out of the casket.

However, it seems that this was just a work and that Aiden English successfully managed to convince many wrestling sites that he was legitimately injured. However, I'm of the belief that if Taker did botch a move and injure someone that the WWE would hush it up a bit.

For now, though, we'll have to take PWInsider's word for it and accept that English was fine and not injured.

#3 Bobby Lashley to form a new tag team with surprise name?

Bobby Lashley has his eye on the Tag-Team Titles

On last week's Monday Night Raw Bobby Lashley teamed with Braun Strowman to demolish Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn and at the Greatest Royal Rumble Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt won the Raw Tag-Team Titles.

How are these things linked? Well, Bobby Lashley tweeted after the Deleters of Worlds won the titles and tagged Braun Strowman into his tweet, seemingly indicating that he wanted to partner with 'The Monster Among Men' again to win those Tag-Team Titles.

#2 Why Drew McIntyre missed the Greatest Royal Rumble

Drew McIntyre missed the show in Saudi Arabia

Those eagle-eyed fans out there will not get many plaudits for noticing that the huge Drew McIntyre, who has recently been called up to Monday Night Raw, wasn't at the Greatest Royal Rumble show in Saudi Arabia.

Now the belief is that WWE called McIntyre up to the main roster so last minute that they didn't have enough time to arrange his visa details for traveling to Saudi Arabia so he had to sit the event out.

#1 Finn Balor to turn heel

Finn Balor set for a major character change?

Finn Balor has become the face of WWE's LGBT relations thanks to his rainbow gear at WrestleMania but it seems that the WWE are preparing to turn him heel over his constant failures to capture the Intercontinental Title.

At least that's what Bryan Alvarez has indicated on a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio.

“The only thing that I can figure is that Finn Balor is going to turn heel. That’s the only thing that makes sense here. I don’t know if it’s going to happen, we’ll find out. But that is what I have determined after seeing what a geek they made that guy look like in that match.”
