Top SmackDown Rumors: Reason for Lesnar's delayed comeback, Roman's WrestleMania opponent, Megastar to return for big rematch (13th June)

#3 SmackDown's Roman Reigns and John Cena to face each other at SummerSlam?

WWE has not yet confirmed whether John Cena will face SmackDown superstar Roman Reigns at SummerSlam. However, reports suggest that John Cena would return on the July 16th edition of SmackDown to kick off his program with Roman Reigns. These rumors were confirmed by Dave Meltzer:

''The show is expected to be loaded up with Roman Reigns vs. John Cena for the Universal title as the main event most talked about.''

Roman Reigns is currently involved in a storyline with his cousins, Jimmy and Jey Uso. The Wrestling Observer report suggested that even though Jimmy Uso is currently refusing to acknowledge The Tribal Chief, the cousins will eventually become a tight-knit group by SummerSlam.

Though John Cena and Roman Reigns have butted heads in the past, Reigns is in the prime of his run right now as the top heel in the company. The two men last competed in 2017 and a rematch between them will surely be a big-time money match for WWE.
