The Royal Rumble is always remembered for its ability to pull off surprises when we least expect them to happen. And one of the marquee ways of causing surprises has to be the unexpected Rumble entrants who come and produce the unimaginable pop among the crowd.

As the clock count downs in the big screen every time, the whole WWE Universe will be holding their breath in order to be ready to witness history being made.

The story won’t be any different this time around as there are still ten more contestants who are unknown for the Rumble. From Hall of Famers to sidelined names, anyone could be expected to make an appearance on Sunday which is bound to make a more impact that the eventual winner of the match. So here is a look at top 5 surprises that might overshadow the winner’s effort at the Royal Rumble.

5- Kane

The Possibility

The Possibility

From the looks of it, CM Punk is on his way to have an epic encounter scheduled with Triple H at WrestleMania. And who else would the COO sent than his beloved Director of Operations to screw Punk from the Rumble. Giving the Straight edge superstar the number one spot is only the start of things.

Though Kane says that the Authority wants Punk to headline WrestleMania by winning the Rumble, the friction between him and Punk is not a secret. Thus he wouldn’t hesitate to get into the ring to get the job done at Rumble.

Kane screwing Punk at the Rumble is going to set up the match between the two and will spark the eventual feud between Punk and Triple H.

4- Jake “The Snake” Roberts

The man who went to hell and came back

The man who went to hell and came back

The surprise might’ve lost its sting at the Old School Raw, but Jake Roberts is going to make a big pop if he makes an appearance at Rumble.

His story is going to serve as an inspiration for all the professional wrestlers out there if WWE gives him another big moment. He has been through the deepest corners of hell and came back with his heads raised high.

The DDP treatment clearly did the job as he looks great now. A nostalgic moment at the Rumble will be a brilliant capping off to his illustrious character and he would go to retirement in peace with a big moment rather than heading home with all the shame in the world.

3- Sheamus

I will be back Fella

I will be back Fella

It might not be a big surprise here as Sheamus is going to be put into the mix at one point or the other. But a Rumble return would be a big impact on the landscape of WWE. A main event star of his quality could serve various scenarios which makes him a valuable expendable.

He might not go all the way and win the Rumble but Sheamus will make a memorable return as he has been out for a long time now.

The interesting part would be to see who is pitted up against as Daniel Bryan is looming around as a possibility among the Internet Wrestling Community. Other possibilities like Dolph Ziggler, Alberto Del Rio or Big E Langston will also be something to watch out for.

2- Daniel Bryan

Yes Yes Yes

Yes Yes Yes

Daniel Bryan pulled off an interesting interview recently in which he said that the company doesn’t want him to be the face of WWE and that’s why he isn’t included in the Rumble.

This could serve as a great buildup for his underdog story when he makes a surprise entry at the Rumble. He might be booked against Bray Wyatt in single’s competition at the Rumble but clearly Bryan has the intensity to go in the Rumble and even win it if he wants.

The creative did a brilliant move by not including him in the Rumble directly thus he could make the biggest pop since he is carrying a paramount momentum coming into the match.

1- The Undertaker

Time to make a big return

Time to make a big return

You didn’t see this one coming did you? Arguably the biggest surprise, if it happens the return of Undertaker will be “the” moment of Royal Rumble and he is going to win hands down.

It would also set up the match between Brock Lesnar and Undertaker assuming that Lesnar wins the title at Elimination Chamber. Taker’s return and win, however will take a lot of heat of the other storylines.

The storylines involving CM Punk, Shield and other will all be buried due to the sheer star power of Taker but it could be worth it. His return is among the most anticipated things in the WrestleMania season and there won’t be a better place than the Royal Rumble for the Phenom to make that happen.
