Total Bellas: 4 Things We Learned From The Season 4 Premiere

Total Bellas Season 4
Total Bellas Season 4

Wrestling's favourite twin sisters are back with the fourth season of their hit E! reality series Total Bellas. Both Nikki and Brie return to navigate life after full-time wrestling and for Nikki, life as a single woman after her public breakup with fellow WWE Superstar John Cena. Brie Bella, however, has her own problems and being single definitely isn't one of them. Instead, she struggles to find a balance between being a mother, wife and a WWE Superstar.

This season promises plenty of drama and will join Nikki, as she once again explores the dating game. Brie Bella must decide whether to start trying for baby number two (husband Daniel Bryan desperately wants to) or devote herself entirely to a wrestling comeback. All of these themes are sure to add a bevvy of drama to the show's eagerly anticipated fourth season.

Season 4's premiere episode got the show off to a dramatic start, as the twins dealt with Nikki's breakup with Cena, the Danielson's mulling a second child, an unexpected move, and a wrestling comeback. We examine all that & more in our exclusive look at the Total Bellas Season 4 premiere.

#4. Nikki Bella Is Taking Her Breakup Exceptionally Hard

Nikki Bella isn't taking her breakup very well. On the Season 4 Total Bellas premiere, she reluctantly compared her breakup to a 'death or divorce', "You're pretty much saying goodbye to something forever."

Nikki fought back tears, as she described the end of her relationship to John Cena:

"He was my rock. He was the one who always lifted me up and it has kicked my ass and kicked me right in the face realizing that I just let go of my number one supporter."

An emotional Nikki Bella described her situation as a difficult process of recovery, "I'm single, 34, with no kids and I'm trying to start over." None the less, it is evident that 'starting over' is exactly what Nikki Bella intends to do and this is made clear in the season's premiere episode, as the new Nikki Bella is motivated to embrace herself as an individual, move on from John Cena, and put herself first.

#3. Nikki Bella's Move To Los Angeles Causes Friction

Total Bellas Season Four is all about change for Nikki Bella, who is picking up the pieces of her life after ending her six-year relationship to former Total Bellas co-star John Cena. Those changes include a move to Los Angeles, far away from her sister Brie Bella.

While this may not seem controversial on the surface, fans of previous Total Bellas seasons may remember that the only reason Brie Bella, Daniel Bryan, and Birdie move in the first place was to be able to be close to Nikki and assist her in her recovery from neck surgery. This fact seems lost on Nikki in season four, as she is a motivated and dead set on closing the door on her life's previous chapter.

The former WWE Divas Champion described that she feels like she doesn't really have a place to call home:

"I went from living in a house with my ex, straight to living in a hotel with my sister. I just want to find one place to call home and not live out of an office or a hotel room."

Nikki confides in Brie that her present locale reminds her too much of Cena and she needs to get away, but Brie feels that Nikki needs her family now more than ever. Nikki's plight seems lost on the Danielson's, who are left scratching their heads and wondering why they left Washington and uprooted the family in the first place.

#2. Brie Bella & Daniel Bryan Have Baby Fever

Birdie Danielson steals the show in the season four premiere. Adorable as ever, Brie Bella and Daniel Bryan's one year old is at the perfect age for a sibling. Even Brie admits so much herself, after spending time with her brother J.J. and his daughter. Brie reminisced about growing up with her siblings and waxed nostalgic about the small age gap they all shared. Brie Bella spoke highly of her own daughter, "She actually is gonna be a really good older sister."

Daniel Bryan is on board. He adamantly wants another child now, despite their chaotic schedules. Bryan admitted, "I've wanted baby number two, since baby number one." Although Brie wants another child, she isn't entirely convinced about the timing. Her in-ring comeback is incredibly important for her. That won't stop Daniel Bryan from pulling out all the stops in order to convince his wife. He even purchased an all natural, herbal, fertility tea, in order to help speed the process along.

The 'children thing' might prove to be an issue for the two. Brie wants to cap the family at two children, but Bryan wasn't too keen on doing that. As Brie revealed her intention to have no more than two children, Daniel Bryan clearly shook his head no. Although he feigned agreement with his wife, at least audibly, Bryan admitted, "I would never accuse you of being wrong...to your face."

#1. Brie Bella Puts Pregnancy On Hold...For Now

A call from John Laurinaitis crashed Daniel Bryan's hopes of having baby number two, at least for now. Laurinaitis called The Bella Twins, to inform the duo that their services would be needed for the upcoming WWE Evolution pay-per-view. Brie Bella had been working exceptionally hard to get her body back into ring shape and her comeback had been a major motivating factor. Of course, pregnancy isn't compatible with an in-ring career and Bella found herself at a crossroad. Inevitably, she chose her return to the ring and put baby making on hold.

Bryan was obviously disappointed. Brie consoled her husband, "I know you really want Birdie and baby number two to be close in age, but I've been waiting to do a comeback like this for a long time." Bryan wasn't moved, but Brie held her ground, citing the historic opportunity to be a part of Evolution, WWE's first ever all-female pay-per-view. Bryan told his wife, "That is exciting but not as exciting as a second baby."

Ultimately, the couple agreed to disagree, but Bella ended the conversation with a promise to her husband, who is worried about getting older, "After my comeback, I promise."
