WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H and his creative team shifted their focus to the upcoming Night of Champions Premium Live Event on this week’s edition of RAW. However, in doing so, The Game may have subtly confirmed the main event of the 2025 SummerSlam. More specifically, he may have revealed who John Cena will face at The Biggest Party of The Summer.
The Franchise Player’s in-ring segment on this week’s Monday Night Show was interrupted by CM Punk. The Second City Saint shed light on Cena's opportunistic Men's Elimination Chamber win, which was followed by the latter selling out to The Rock and resorting to underhanded means to win the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania 41.
Lastly, he asked for a title shot since Cena was looking for competition. While The Straight Edge Superstar wanted to fight for the title on the same night, John Cena said that he was ready for a match, but at WWE Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia.
This match was later made official and is most probably going to be the main event of the upcoming PLE. Interestingly, this could mean that John Cena would likely retain his gold in Riyadh and defend the same against Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam.
The American Nightmare deserves a title shot against The Last Real Champion. Notably, he pinned John Cena in a tag team match that also involved Logan Paul and Jey Uso at Money in the Bank this past weekend. While this should have put him next in line to challenge The Franchise Player, inserting CM Punk at Night of Champions means Rhodes will likely get his opportunity at SummerSlam.
Even The Second City Saint acknowledged The American Nightmare as the company's biggest star on last night's RAW. Thus, Cody Rhodes is likely to win the King of the Ring Tournament and punch his ticket to The Biggest Party of The Summer and battle the 17-time World Champion. While this is a big possibility, all of this is speculation so far.
Triple H also spoiled the return of a three-time WWE Women’s Champion on RAW
The 2025 Royal Rumble saw the WWE Universe go wild in shock and excitement when Alexa Bliss returned to the company after two long years. Little Miss Bliss received a huge pop from the crowd as she walked into the ring.
However, Asuka will be getting a rather dampened version of this reaction since her impending WWE return was spoiled on this week’s edition of RAW. A video package featuring The Empress of Tomorrow was shown during last night's episode, following which she was declared a competitor in a Queen of the Ring Tournament Fatal Four-Way qualifier that is set for next week's episode of the red brand's show. She will lock horns with Stephanie Vaquer, Ivy Nile, and Raquel Rodriguez to earn a spot in the semifinals.
It should be noted that the former Women's World Champion was pulled out of last year’s QOTR tournament owing to a knee injury. An unannounced return in the same tournament would have been iconic.
However, the Triple H-led creative team has now lost the opportunity to capitalize on it because of its eagerness to spill the beans. It will be interesting to see if the Damage CTRL star wins the 2025 Queen of the Ring Tournament.
