Two high-octane matches have been announced for next week's episode of the Black and Gold brand. Owing to the rising tension between the two Superstars, NXT Cruiserweight Champion Lio Rush will once again defend his title against Angel Garza.
Dakota Kai revealed on tonight's episode of NXT that she was the one who took out Mia Yim from behind at NXT TakeOver: WarGames which rendered her unable to compete. Now, a match has been booked between the two for next week.
Lio Rush vs. Angel Garza
In their last encounter, Angel Garza took things a bit too far when he insulted Lio Rush's wife who was seated at ringside. This made Rush implode who not only defeated Garza in that match but also took him out backstage after he successfully beat Swerve Scott after NXT TakeOver: WarGames pre-show.
This also sparked a response from Garza who provoked Rush backstage on last week's NXT while he was giving an interview with RAW Superstar Akira Tozawa who he defeated. While Tozawa and security held Rush from lashing out at Garza, the Mexican Superstar took to Twitter to call out NXT GM William Regal for protecting Rush and asked for a rematch. Now, Garza will get his wish on December 11 when he takes on Rush.
Mia Yim vs. Dakota Kai
Rhea Ripley was supposed to face Dakota Kai on tonight's NXT but she instead allowed Mia Yim to come out and have her way with Kai to exact revenge. While Yim beat Kai all over the NXT Arena, the match between the two women will occur next week.
