At WWE SummerSlam, Seth Rollins beat Brock Lesnar once again to reclaim the Universal Championship. Although it was a surprisingly good match and showcased just how good Rollins is, he should not have walked out of Toronto as champion.

Firstly, it was once again a waste of the Money in the Bank contract. While the argument can be made that giving the briefcase to Lesnar in the first place was a bad idea, at least it was entertaining with the “Brock Party”.

If Lesnar had shown up more, and if he had a decent title reign, it would have been fine. However, Lesnar had a short reign as champion, and we are pretty much back to where we were before Money in the Bank, with Rollins as champion.

WWE should have either given the briefcase to someone else, have Brock cash-in on Kofi Kingston, or have Lesnar wait to cash-in during fall.

Another issue is that Rollins’ win was somewhat unrealistic. The storyline portrayed Rollins beaten up and in bad shape heading into SummerSlam after having his ribs crushed two weeks in a row, therefore, there is no way Rollins should have been able to do much of the things he did in the match.

This isn’t to say Rollins should have been defeated easily, but his “injuries” should have made things much harder.

Although many fans may not like Lesnar, him retaining the title at the event would have made sense and should have set us up for a potential Rollins heel turn.

Imagine Rollins losing to the Beast at SummerSlam. He would have been on a losing streak, which would have led to him ultimately snapping and turning heel. Rollins is much better as a heel, so that would have made for captivating television.
