What’s the story?

As reported by PWInsider, Jeff Hardy was set to report to the WWE Performance Center next week.

However, the WWE’s plans for Hardy may have changed following his recent arrest and ensuing issues.

In case you didn’t know…

Hardy was recently arrested after he crashed his vehicle into a guardrail on the Concord Parkway in Concord, North Carolina.

In the days that followed, it was confirmed that Hardy failed his breathalyzer test—exhibiting a blood alcohol level of 0.25 which is about three times the legal limit.

The heart of the matter

One ought to note that the Charismatic Enigma was charged with a DWI (Driving While Intoxicated); adding to a long list of run-ins with the law that Hardy has found himself in over the past several years.

Additionally, he also faced felony charges in the past, regarding a 2009 incident wherein certain drugs were found.

Per PWInsider, Hardy was scheduled to be at the WWE Performance Center next week.

In fact, the plans to bring him to the WWE PC ahead of WrestleMania 34, were in place well before Hardy’s accident and resultant DWI transpired.

Nevertheless, it’s now being noted that the WWE may not have him report to the PC next week, and choose to postpone his in-ring return.

Furthermore, it’s being reiterated that the Ultimate Deletion Match between Bray Wyatt and Matt Hardy, which was taped before the Charismatic Enigma's accident and featured him in a cameo, could now possibly have his scenes edited out—which in turn would strongly signify that WWE may indeed be choosing to delay his on-screen return.

What’s next?

The Ultimate Deletion Match takes place on next week’s episode of Monday Night RAW, and is expected to serve as the conclusion of the feud between Wyatt and Hardy.

Meanwhile, the vast majority of professional wrestling industry experts believe that the WWE plans on making the Charismatic Enigma complete his rehab, concerning his alleged alcohol abuse before he’s allowed to make his in-ring & on-screen return to WWE.

Author’s take

Honestly speaking, upon examining the aftermath of the DWI arrest, JHardy appears to be dealing with his alleged substance abuse issues incredibly well.

No one is perfect, and our favorite performers—as great as they are—are after all human. Here’s hoping the DWI doesn’t impede Jeff’s progress in the WWE.

Brother Nero shall surely bounce back from this one.
