What issues did Batista have with Shelly Martinez? Know their history

Batista's last in-ring appearance in WWE was during WrestleMania 35

Dave Bautista (aka Batista) is a six-time WWE world champion who has successfully moved into acting. He has been linked to a few of his fellow superstars in the past, including former WWE Women's Champion Melina. However, their relationship seemingly led to differences between Melina's friend, Shelly Martinez, and The Animal.

Martinez mentioned that back in 2007, a backstage incident with Batista led to her departure from the company. At the time, she was working under the ECW brand as Ariel. The Animal apparently developed animosity towards the star due to her involvement in the former's relationship with Melina. The wrestling legend even refused to shake Martinez's hand after she offered to settle their issues.

While appearing on the Wrestling Shoot Interviews podcast, Martinez described her conversation with Batista.

"He started getting annoyed, it's like, 'You and Melina have the same mind,' and it's like, 'No dude, you're a d*ck to my girlfriend, not cool. I'm going to have her back.' Next thing I know, I get called into Johnny Ace's [Laurinaitis] office." (1:08 - 1:21)

However, it appears that the beef has now been squashed after Martinez surprisingly posted a photo of the duo on her Twitter profile. In the caption, she confirmed that their feud was a thing of the past and that they ended that "negative energy a long time ago."

Former WWE SmackDown Women's Champion on following in Batista's footsteps

Dave Bautista still holds the record for the longest reign with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and is a well-respected name in the industry. Former WWE SmackDown Women's Champion Charlotte Flair recently mentioned him and a few other decorated wrestling icons when discussing her career trajectory.

Flair has not been seen on the company's programming since her devastating loss to Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 39. Despite losing the title, her dedication to the craft still seems intact. In an interview with Boardroom TV, she mentioned that it is only a matter of time before she reaches her goals.

"I think now, it’s just getting to that next level. Like, I know that my name is popular within sports entertainment, but I wanna get to that male level of John Cena, The Rock, [and] Batista still. " [H/T Essentially Sports]

Fans eagerly await the 37-year-old's return, but it is still unclear when she will make her in-ring comeback. Flair also noted in the interview that she is interested in exploring opportunities outside the wrestling business.
