Why Dolph Ziggler should win Royal Rumble 2018

Lots of rumours go around about this time of year regarding who will win the Royal Rumble match, and it is no different this year. Whilst many internet fans clamour for Shinsuke Nakamura or Finn Balor to win the Royal Rumble match, an interesting storyline would be to have Dolph Ziggler win the Royal Rumble match.

Now, whilst some people may feel the chance to push Ziggler may have been and gone, there is no doubt he is a top tier talent who could put on a great in-ring match at Wrestlemania, especially if AJ Styles keeps the title until then.

Ziggler has had a lot of success in WWE, from Money in the Bank winner, several titles, and Survivor Series 'survivor'. But many will feel he deserved a bit more in his run.

Now would be the perfect time for a rebirth as such. He is out of contract and a way to persuade him to stay would be a big push, otherwise its fairly certain he will leave WWE to pursue other careers, and maybe end up wrestling in Japan.

This though, is not the only reason to have Dolph Ziggler win the Royal Rumble. He recently won the United States title and left it in the ring, where on Smackdown live on Tuesday it was announced that Ziggler has voluntarily relinquished the title and there is a tournament for a new champion.

Now Dolph could well come back and claim he never lost this title, however, I feel a better storyline would be the following:

Ziggler stays off TV until the Royal Rumble, to make people believe he has gone for good, he makes his surprise return in the match and wins and he then says on Smackdown Live that he proved he was the best when winning the United States championship against two guys, and he dropped it because he believed he would win the Royal Rumble and then the WWE title. He then starts the feud with AJ Styles.

What do people think of this idea? Any better storyline ideas for Ziggler? Or would you simply prefer someone else to win the Royal Rumble match?
