A bit of history..
The epic feud was teased back when MMA’s four Horsewomen, Ronda Rousey, Marina Shafir, Jessamyn Duke and Shayna Baszler were all in the Mixed Martial Arts industry and WWE’s four horsewomen, Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Sasha Banks and Bayley were in NXT.
Τhere were plans for a WWE Horsewomen vs. MMA Horsewomen match at last year’s Survivor Series. However, the match never happened since Baszler’s teammates hadn’t yet set foot in Vince McMahon’s promotion at that time, leading many to speculate that WWE would be eventually showcasing the mega fight in the coming years at WrestleMania.
Ever since the tense staredown back in 2017, members of both WWE’s Four Horsewomen and the MMA Four Horsewomen have been engulfed in a hotly broiled rivalry that continues to spill on social media.
The feud..
Ronda Rousey teased a potential a match between all eight women following her successful defence of the Raw Women's Championship at the Royal Rumble PPV.
With Rousey, Flair and Lynch set to fight at this year's Wrestlemania for the RAW women's championship, Bayley and Banks set to fight for the tag team titles and with Baszler, Safir and Duke running the NXT's women's division, we can all see that a potential match is getting closer indeed.
Baszler, Duke, and Shafir though will not make their way up to the WWE main roster as long as Shayna remains NXT women's champion. So a feud with Bayley, Banks, Flair, and Lynch will be delayed until the three of them are promoted.
That gives time to WWE and Ronda Rousey. WWE will have time to tell a great story and Ronda will have time to possibly become a mother. Meanwhile Shayna, Marine and Jessamyn could run the women's division as champions and gain credibility.
Why we should go for the slow build.
Instead of rushing the whole thing and make the match happen before Ronda goes away, WWE should wait.
Why should they wait? Because since we have time and we already took the long build to this match, WWE should first debut Shayna, Marina, and Jessamyn and establish them as a force. Both three of them need to get used to the main roster.
Then we can start getting them involved with Becky, Charlotte, Sasha, and Bayley by possibly attacking all of them separately. In the meantime both three of them can become champions and reign over the division.
The climax..
This leads to the four horsewomen of WWE getting back together as they join forces to battle the common enemy. That leads to a match and the return of Ronda Rousey at Survivor Series or next year's Wrestlemania.
WWE has endless possibilities for this match. They only have one shot at this super showdown, so they should take their time and build accordingly. On the other hand, WWE has proven time and time again that they rush things. Let's hope that this time they stick to their plan.
