Why the Singh Brothers should not have been sent to 205 Live

Formerly known as the Bollywood Boyz, Samir and Sunil Singh moved to 205 Live during the Superstar Shake-up, thus, ending their 2-year long association with the Modern Day Maharaja, Jinder Mahal.

Though the Singh Brothers have moved to the purple brand, they have not been involved in a major storyline. The problem is 205 Live does not have its own set of tag team titles, whereas WWE will never book a storyline where one of the Singhs goes after the Cruiserweight Championship.

Thus, this move will not provide any benefits to both the creative team and the Singh Brothers. It would have been better had they been allowed to return to SmackDown Live.

The tag team division of SmackDown Live has been in disarray ever since the Hardy Boyz relinquished the SmackDown tag team championships. The fact that WWE had to call over a team from RAW as a wildcard to battle for the vacant tag team titles signifies how shallow the current division is.

Given that the B show will soon move to FOX, WWE should have tried their best to take the tag team division to an all new level, but they have buried that division even further. Since there are only 4 major teams in the division, WWE could have added the Singhs.

Though the Singh Brothers would never win the titles, they could have been the 'Lucha House Party' type tag team of the blue brand. I guess WWE will add at least 2 more tag teams to the SmackDown roster before Survivor Series because SmackDown would need 5 tag teams to battle RAW in the 10-on-10 match.

A lot of members of the WWE Universe also believe that the Singh Brothers would have been better off with their ally, Jinder Mahal. The former WWE Champion, Jinder Mahal, has been booked in a lackluster manner ever since his feud with Roman Reigns ended in 2018.

He had been pushed down the card for his inability to get Roman Reigns over with the fans. However, it has been a long time since that feud ended yet Mahal has not returned to the mid-card.

If the Singh Brothers had been around, then Mahal might have entered the Intercontinental Championship picture, but now he does not have sidekicks, his heel powers will diminish and as witnessed on the previous episode of SmackDown Live, Mahal will continue chasing the 24/7 championship.

Nevertheless, the Singh Brothers will continue to be a part of 205 Live, at least until the 2020 Superstar Shake-up. Did WWE commit a mistake by sending the Singh Brothers to 205 Live? Share your views in the comments box below.
