Why did top WWE RAW babyface say he loves Roman Reigns?

Since Roman Reigns is technically a SmackDown Superstar, RAW hasn't had its world championship. With WWE crowning a new World Heavyweight Champion at Night of Champions, that problem will be resolved this weekend.

AJ Styles and Seth Rollins will battle to become the new World Champion. In the build to the historic match, Rollins was interviewed by Corey Graves. In the latest sit-down, Graves asked The Visionary about his feelings toward Reigns. Rollins actually said he "loved" Roman Reigns, but why would he compliment a performer who has been so domineering in WWE for the last three years?

WWE fans know that Reigns, Rollins, and Dean Ambrose (AKA Jon Moxley) debuted on the main roster as the Shield. The group ran wild over the roster, with Rollins and Reigns winning tag team gold. Ambrose won the US Title at the same time.

Due to their parallel journeys, Rollins will always have a spot in his heart for his friend/rival.

It just happens that over the last few years, that love has dissipated due to Roman's change of character. His dominance over WWE and the Bloodline has had a polarizing effect on everyone.

Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns are future WWE Hall of Famers

Because they debuted as a unit, it was easy to see that Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns would be big stars. Each performer has won the WWE Title and Universal Championship.

They've also won tag team gold, the United States Championship, and a Royal Rumble. They will always be compared throughout their careers due to the way they both debuted.

Roman Reigns was the handpicked star of the Shield, as evidenced by his nearly 1,000-day title run. At the same time, Rollins has done fantastic work with his current outlandish character. Live crowds often sing his theme song minutes after it ends.

The love from the crowd is also something that Rollins appreciates as he fights for himself and the fans. During the interview, he claimed that "this version" of Reigns is selfish and holds the rest of RAW and SmackDown back.

The World Heavyweight Championship symbolizes an opportunity for the rest of the roster since Roman Reigns has held SmackDown and WWE hostage as the Undisputed Champion. Rollins and Reigns also clashed two years ago at the Royal Rumble, with The Visionary winning via disqualification.

The two will always be linked in the WWE. Because of that, Rollins has a different yet complicated relationship with The Tribal Chief than with other stars.
