WWE WrestleMania 32: 5 Changes Shane McMahon could bring about if he gets control of Raw

All our hopes rest on him

The ongoing power struggle between Shane McMahon and Vince McMahon is one of the most exciting storylines heading into WrestleMania. Shane returned to WWE after a hiatus and claimed that being in control of Monday Night Raw was his destiny.

Now, these angles have naturally transformed Shane into one of the biggest babyfaces in the company as he was projected as a representative of the frustrated fanbase.

Everyone would be rooting for Shane to win as he is expected to bring about major changes to the WWE product. But the big question is, what all could Shane do to make the fans happy?

We list down some possible angles that could work out.

Changing Raw to 2 hours

A 2 hour Raw would be crisp

The biggest problem with Monday Night Raw at this point is its length. Three hours for a wrestling show is too much to digest and filling such a show with meaningful matches is not an easy task.

When you look at the big picture, WWE's weekly show is of the same length as the pay-per-views. This is something that needs to change.

With three hours of television to be filled, WWE tends to have random bookings. This puts the crowd completely off and at the same time affects the storyline that matters. Changing Monday Night Raw to two hours, on the other hand, would take away a lot of pressure from the creative team.

At the same time, it would also result in a much crispier show.

Replacing Divas division with Women's division

Women > Diva

The term 'Diva' is an insult to the women who dedicate their sweat and blood to the business. The whole concept of women being models instead of actual 'wrestlers' is the pivotal problem with the WWE's division.

WWE puts more emphasis on pushing forward the storylines of Total Divas than developing the stories of the women in their roster.

The scenario at NXT is a stark contrast and this is why the women there are treated with high regard by the fans. If Shane comes to power, he should drop the whole Divas concept and bring back the Women's Championship.

Bringing back the Cruiserweight division

Chance for highfliers to shine

The cruiserweight division was not a big hit with wrestling purists back in the day. Most of the critics did not consider flying around the ring as actual wrestling and took shots at the division whenever the opportunity arose.

But no one can take away the fact that the cruiserweight division was one of the factors that separated WCW from WWE during the Monday Night Wars.

With a lot of high flying talent on the roster, bringing back the Cruiserweight division would be a solid move from WWE's side. It would open the door for lesser used talents in the roster, which is always a good thing.

The brand split itself

Everyone wants a brand split

Recently, a handful of rumors broke out on WWE doing a brand split after WrestleMania. The separate graphics for SmackDown and Raw strengthened the same.

One major question that these rumors raise is: Why is Shane McMahon simply fighting for the control over Raw if there are no plans of a brand split?

This question does make sense and if Shane wins, a brand split would be the best path to tread on. SmackDown has no relevance whatsoever in the current scenario but treating it as a separate brand will shake things up.

Also, if history is taken into consideration, competition always brings out the best from wrestling promotions and that’s a bonafide fact.

A ranking system

Why not?

This is an idea that TNA implemented successfully. The main reason why WWE need such a ranking system is because of all the random matches they have. Raw usually has a string of filler matches that make no sense whatsoever.

However, if there is a ranking system, the superstars would be fighting to improve their ranking.

That is, there will be an actual purpose for each and every match in the card. This could also amp up the excitement and intrigue among the fans. The contenders for the championships would be determined clearly using such a system as well.

It is a concept that could work if implemented in a solid manner, but at the same time, the room for error is pretty low.
