Why exactly did Styles lose this one?

Can anyone give me a good reason for AJ Styles to have lost his first WrestleMania match last year against Chris Jericho? Nothing seems to justify that other than the fact that the WWE wanted a veteran in Chris Jericho to have a good WrestleMania moment.

What did follow right after on the next night on Raw, though, was that Styles won a No. 1 Contender’s match for the WWE title and didn’t lose any momentum due to his shock loss against Y2J.

The WWE could do something similar with Seth Rollins as they allow the veteran Triple H to have a triumphant WrestleMania moment but at the same time, push Seth Rollins immediately following the loss so that he still looks like a legitimate badass.

If it worked for AJ Styles, there’s no reason why it wouldn’t work for Seth Rollins.
