#4. They don't want Cena in a throwaway match

When it came to The Undertaker and WrestleMania a few years ago, there was only one real opponent he needed to face before calling it a day - John Cena. Due to various circumstances, they never met at WrestleMania 32 as they should have, while WrestleMania 33 saw different plans for both of them, as The Undertaker took on Roman Reigns, while Cena teamed with Nikki Bella in a mixed tag team match.

WrestleMania 34 finally allowed the two to meet, but the "dream match" lasted all but 2 minutes and 45 seconds. If that wasn't bizarre enough, the entire "build" to the match was just John Cena calling out The Undertaker and abusing him when he didn't answer his call-out.

Ultimately, The Undertaker did accept his challenge, but it was a throwaway filler match. WWE likely learned their lesson from this and don't want to waste Cena on a random match. That really isn't bad reasoning if you think of it, because he can be utilized much better.
