Since returning to WWE in 2016, Kurt Angle has feuded with a lot of superstars. Last year he faced Triple H and Stephanie McMahon alongside Ronda Rousey, in a match he won. Since then, Angle has briefly feuded with many superstars, but his rivalry with Corbin is the most noted one.

It could have been another reason why WWE has decided to put The Lone Wolf against the former Olympic Gold Medalist. Currently, most of the other rivals of Kurt Angle are also busy with their own stuff, which could have coerced WWE to book Corbin vs. Angle.

Plus, both superstars never truly finished their rivalry. One week, Angle would win and the other, Corbin would defeat him. There were times when it seemed like WWE was stretching this rivalry too far, which isn't a good thing. However, now we are in a stage where things can't be changed or reverted back to normal.
