Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair made history at WWE WrestleMania 37 during the first main event of the show. Both women soaked up the cheers from the WWE Universe before locking up.
The initial part of the match was marked with traditional takedowns and counters before the two SmackDown Superstars got down to business. Belair showed her power early after she hit a crossbody to Banks outside the ring and pressed her above her head. She walked up the stairs and threw Banks in the ring with ease.
Banks tried to use The EST’s hair against her, but it ended up backfiring, as Belair yanked her into the ring post. The challenger kept hitting some clean moves to show her power and keep her opponent down.
Belair hit two powerbombs before The Boss countered a third. The EST kicked out of a frog splash, and Banks started to work on her arm. She used the steel post to weaken Belair before locking in the Bank Statement. A lot of damage was done before Belair made it to the bottom rope.
The challenger avoided a Meteora and hit a 450 splash, but the resilient Banks still managed to kick out of the pin. The EST finally hit the KOD to pick up the victory.
Tears streamed down her face as she celebrated her first world title victory. The WrestleMania audience gave her a standing applause to make the moment even more memorable. This was one of the best WrestleMania main events in recent times.
Banks was the perfect opponent for Belair at WrestleMania, and both women did incredibly well in this match. Banks knows what dreaming big feels like, and she was there to give Belair her big moment in a great contest. It’ll be difficult for the men to top this main event.
