WWE: 15 Greatest Technical Wrestlers – Number 2

Kurt Angle Dude

Angle returned to in-ring competition in the later part of ’04, and next year, he delivered one of the greatest matches in WrestleMania history when he faced Shawn Michaels. The match was voted as the ‘Match of the year’ by PWI, and after their feud, Kurt Angle went to Smackdown, and in ’06, won the World Heavyweight Championship once again. He then put on yet another great match with the Undertaker at No Way Out, and dropped the title at WrestleMania. At this point, it was evident that neither Kurt nor the WWE were invested in each other, and Kurt was granted his release.

Kurt then went to TNA, where he had yet another ‘Feud of the year’ with Samoa Joe, putting on great matches as always, and then wrestled in Japan and won the IWGP World title. Kurt has since won the TNA World title on 5 different occasions, and has been involved in major feuds, and is currently a part of their ‘Main Event Mafia’ stable, fighting against the heel faction of Aces and Eights. Kurt has been the biggest acquisition for TNA, and was able to turn the tables in their favor, by bringing mainstream attention and ratings. Kurt Angle was also recently inducted into the TNA Hall of Fame, the second ever to receive that honor.

Gold Kurt Angle

Kurt Angle has had his fair share of issues during his career, but performing at the peak took its toll on his body, although he can still out-wrestle every member of the TNA roster. Kurt Angle was voted the best technical wrestler in 2002, most outstanding wrestler from 2001-2003 and was also voted the wrestler of the decade from 2000-2010 by Wrestling Observer.

Even Bret Hart once said that his dream opponent would be Kurt Angle. Almost all the wrestling fans share the same opinion when it comes to the technical prowess and expertise of Kurt Angle, and that earns him the number 2 spot in our list of the greatest technical wrestlers in the history of WWE.
