Last week, Lince Dorado punched his ticket to Clash of Champions after defeating Humberto Carrillo, the #1 contender, in a singles match, making the title bout a Triple Threat between the two men and the Cruiserweight Champion Drew Gulak. After the match, they were assaulted by Gulak and, surprisingly, Tony Nese.

Nese reformed his alliance with the Pittsburgh Stretcher, leaving the luchadores battered and broken. Tonight, Carrillo and Dorado would get their revenge in the main event only a few days away from their title bout at Clash of Champions.

With NXT moving to the USA Network next week, Nigel McGuinness left the 205 Live commentary team to focus on Wednesday nights. With that, a new personality at the desk was introduced, Dio Madden. Many may know Madden as the Shogun of the ROW, Marcellus Black.

The former NFL lineman – real name being Brennan Williams – has been working with NXT for quite some time. It seems that he'll be getting the opportunity to show off his personality with his move to 205 Live's commentary desk.

Tonight we kicked off 205 Live with a tag team match, featuring Akira Tozawa and The Brian Kendrick taking on Gentleman Jack Gallagher and a partner of his choosing. Gallagher had all week to pick someone to assist him, and it seems that he decided to borrow someone from NXT.

Akira Tozawa & The Brian Kendrick vs Jack Gallagher and Kushida

Kushida began the match with Kendrick, with the former Cruiserweight Champion locking up Kushida in a hammerlock. Kushida was able to break away, tying up Kendrick in his own hold. The two jockeyed for position for a while, but Kushida eventually got the better of his opponent, locking up Kendrick in an armbar as he was pulled over in an arm drag.

Kendrick barely made it to the ropes, forcing the break. Kushida tagged in Gallagher, who continued to work over the arm of Kendrick. He was able to make it to his corner though, tagging in the Stamina Monster. Gallagher avoided Tozawa's low kick, and as they bounced off the ropes, Tozawa was tagged by Kendrick, allowing him to take out Gallagher with a sneak attack, sending him into the ring post shoulder first.

Tozawa tagged in again, leading to a double hip toss followed by an elbow drop (on Kendrick) and running senton (on Tozawa) combination. Gallagher managed to get to his feet but was stunned by a few chops and Tozawa's delayed jab, nearly knocking him out. Kendrick tagged in here, bringing Gallagher over with a suplex for a near fall. Tozawa was back in following a double arm drag spot and a pair of kicks.

Despite all the punishment, Gallagher continued to kick out. Kendrick attempted to use Tozawa for a standing Sliced Bread No. 2, but Gallagher escaped and tagged in the Time Splitter. Kushida took out Tozawa and Kendrick with a series of kicks and a strong right hand to Kendrick left him out on the mat. The armbar almost gave Kushida a win, but Tozawa broke it up.

Some interesting tandem offense from Kushida and Gallagher left Tozawa on the outside. Gallagher was taken out by Kendrick, though, and the former champion trapped Kushida in the Captain's Hook. Kushida couldn't reach Gallagher, so instead rolled up Kendrick for a pin.

Kendrick kicked out and was sent to the outside. As Kushida tried to tag in the Gentleman, Kendrick pulled him off the apron and sent him into the barricade. Tozawa followed up with a running rolling senton from the apron. Kushida was able to send Tozawa outside following another series of heavy strikes and forced Kendrick to tap to the Sakuraba Lock.

Results: Kushida and Jack Gallagher defeated The Brian Kendrick & Akira Tozawa via submission.

Dio Madden had an interesting response to Kushida's 205 Live debut.

Mike Kanellis was interviewed backstage. He picked up his first solo win in quite some time, defeating Tony Nese in singles competition. Some believe that loss led to Nese's betrayal of the fans, Oney Lorcan, Humberto Carrillo, and Lince Dorado last week when he joined the Cruiserweight Champion Drew Gulak and beat down his two contenders for the title.

Even though he got the win, Kanellis was verbally run down by his wife Maria, who said that the win he got last week didn't matter, as it was only earned by taking advantage of Nese. She left, claiming that if that's how he wants to do things, maybe she doesn't need to be here.

Before Carrillo and Dorado could get to the bottom of the ramp, they were attacked by Nese and Gulak. Ariya Daivari joined in the brawl, assisting Nese & Gulak in beating down Carrillo and Dorado and giving us a reunion of the Zo Train, minus Noam Dar. Gran Metalik rushed the ring, taking out Nese and Daivari with a springboard split dropkick. A springboard elbow sent Gulak outside.

Humberto Carrillo, Gran Metalik, and Lince Dorado vs Tony Nese, Ariya Daivari, and Drew Gulak

Dorado kicked off the match with Daivari. Gulak held onto Daivari's legs, pulling him out of harm's way as Dorado attempted a standing dropkick. With that, Dorado leapt onto all three men with a springboard splash. Back inside the ring, a series of kicks stunned Daivari. A springboard crossbody nearly got the early victory.

Metalik tagged in, leaping onto Daivari's arm. Carrillo followed suit, continuing the assault on the Persian Lion's arm. Dorado finished it up with a top rope axe handle. Daivari made it to his corner and tagged in the Cruiserweight Champion. Dorado had him on the ropes, but as he bounced off the ropes, Daivari kneed him in the back, allowing Gulak and company to take over.

Nese came in and trapped Dorado in a rear chin lock. Dorado escaped but was taken out by a series of kicks from Nese. Daivari tagged in, stomping on Dorado's leg. Dorado was bounced off the corner chest first, sending him stumbling onto his back. Daivari dragged him to his corner where Dorado was battered by all three men. Nese tagged in and distracted the ref while Daivari choked out the Golden Lynx.

Gulak tagged in again, sending Dorado to the neutral corner with a headbutt. The wildcat of the Lucha House Party was in serious trouble here, with Gulak pretty much toying with him. However, Dorado made it to the ropes and sent Gulak to his corner with a top rope arm drag. Metalik tagged in as did Nese, with the King of the Ropes launching the Premier Athlete across the ring with a handspring arm drag and a middle rope dropkick.

Metalik sent Daivari and Gulak to the floor but was floored by Nese on the outside. Gulak tagged back in, leaping onto Metalik's chest with a stomp. Metalik prevented Gulak from taking off his mask. Daivari continued the beat down, trapping Metalik in a side headlock, keeping the high flyer off his feet.

Gulak came in after the WWE Universe were distracted by a...baby? The champion then rocked Metalik to sleep before driving him into the mat with a powerslam. Nese came back in and trapped Metalik in a pair of body scissors. Daivari came in again, bouncing Metalik off the corner. He knocked Dorado to the floor, but thanks to a distraction by Carrillo, Daivari taken out by a slingblade.

Carrillo and Gulak tagged in, with the Handsome High Flyer knocking Gulak to the mat with a dropkick. The rolling moonsault set up for a pinfall, but Daivari rushed in to break up the pin. Carrillo then sent Daivari and Nese to the outside, landing on all three men with a moonsault from the top rope.

Back inside, a picture-perfect missile dropkick took out Gulak. Nese broke up the pin but was leveled with a tornado DDT. Daivari dropped onto Dorado with a Persian Lion Splash but was taken out by Metalik. Carrillo was dropped with a falcon arrow but was able to break out before the three-count.

Carrillo managed to counter a suplex with an inside cradle. Gulak broke out and tagged in Daivari, who tagged in Nese. A double suplex from Gulak & Daivari led to the 450 Splash from Nese. Carrillo kicked out while Daivari and Gulak battered two-thirds of the Lucha House Party.

Nese, Daivari, and Gulak took Carrillo, Dorado, and Metalik up top. The luchadores sent them down to the mat and attempted a trio of moonsaults. Gulak, Nese, and Daivari all got their feet up, but as they rushed in for a trio of clotheslines, all three were met by a crescendo of superkicks.

Dorado tagged in here only to be dropped with a spinning sit out powerbomb. Carrillo broke the pin-up and sent Nese out with a spinning roundhouse kick. Daivari attempted the Hammerlock Lariat, but Carrillo ducked, allowing Metalik to send him to the apron with an enziguri. Carrillo took out Nese with a plancha while Metalik rolled Daivari off the apron with an incredible running hurricanrana over the ropes, crashing on the ground below.

Dorado escaped Gulak's Cyclone Crash and finished the match with the Shooting Star Press.

Results: Lince Dorado, Humberto Carrillo, and Gran Metalik defeated Drew Gulak, Ariya Daivari, and Tony Nese via pinfall.

With a pinfall victory over Gulak, Lince Dorado heads into Clash of Champions with a huge head of steam. Will the Golden Lynx manage to tear the Cruiserweight Championship from Gulak in his first ever title match?
