6 Disrespectful comments from superstars about WWE

For those involved in the wrestling business, making to the WWE is considered to be the pinnacle of the careers of most superstars, with the majority stating they wouldn’t dream of being anywhere else. However, with every star that praises the WWE, there is one that makes some disrespectful remarks towards the sports entertainment juggernaut.

Let’s take a look at 6 examples of superstars making disrespectful comments about WWE.

Brock Lesnar – Calling Wrestling Fake

Brock has since returned to the WWE

Seen as being one of the most disrespectful things that can be said about WWE, Brock Lesnar cause a lot of controversy when he said that wrestling is not real. You can imagine the outrage among fans as Lesnar used the “F word” to describe pro wrestling, as he had left the squared circle behind for the octagon.

After causing such a storm, Brock then went on record to rectify what he said, as he states that while wrestling may be predetermined, that’s not to say that the moves don’t hurt and that wrestlers do put their bodies on the line every time they step into the ring.

Mr. Kennedy/Anderson – Mocking WWE and Triple H

Mr. Kennedy

While a lot of stars vent about their frustration about not being able to break the fabled “Glass Ceiling” of sports entertainment’s biggest company, not many get to talk about it on the show of the second biggest company.

Mr. Anderson (formerly known as Mr. Kennedy) got the opportunity to do just that while at TNA. While venting his frustrations about WWE, he also managed to mock Triple H and how he was “in the ear” of the Chairman of WWE, stating this as the reason why he didn’t get close to having a WWE Championship reign.

Matt Hardy – A Victim of the WWE

Matt Hardy wouldn’t wish the path he had to take “on his worst enemy”

Similar to the previous, Matt Hardy was also one of the small number of WWE talents that voice their displeasure while in TNA. Speaking with AJ Styles, Matt told him that his career had been filled with negatives that he wouldn’t wish on his worst enemy.

When you look at his career in WWE, you can see why he would feel that way, as there is a feeling among fans that Matt is the “Jannetty” of the Hardys which to some extent is due to the more opportunities that Jeff was afforded while working for WWE.

Kaval – Mentioning TNA on WWE TV

We’ve looked at two instances where former WWE superstars have gone on TNA television and spoke their mind about how they were treated in WWE. How about when a former TNA star goes on WWE television and makes a reference with an “Impact”?

In this instance, Kaval never made any comments that directly disrespected WWE. What he did instead was mention “Total Nonstop Action” during an episode of NXT. This reference was immediately criticized by the commentary team, as they began to brand Kaval’s actions as “stupid”.

Given that WWE very rarely makes references to rival companies without consequences (excluding John Cena’s reference), it’s understandable how quickly Michael Cole & co. responded to Kaval’s comments.

CM Punk - Pipebomb

CM Punk would be suspended as a result of his “Pipebomb”

There are a lot of people out there that, if they had to write this article, would give 10 examples of CM Punk being disrespectful to the WWE. The dysfunctional relationship between CM Punk and WWE is a very strange one. You could argue that The Second City Saint had been disrespecting WWE ever since he decided to sit down on a ramp in Las Vegas and deliver what is now famously referred to as a “Pipebomb”.

Claiming that WWE would be better off once Vince McMahon is dead was definitely stepping the line and to add further insult, he then said the company would be taken over by his “idiot” daughter and “doofus” son-in-law.

In hindsight, it was incredibly unfair for Punk to suggest the company would be left in the wrong hands as in that time, Triple H has done a phenomenal job with NXT and a significantly large portion of the WWE Universe are eager to see Paul Levesque take over the main roster.

Madusa – The Trash Can Incident

Madusa dumps the women’s title into the trash can

Alundra Blayze made her name in WWE (Then WWF) as one of the elite wrestlers in the women’s division and caused lot of controversy when she showed up on WCW’s Monday Nitro under the name Madusa.

The reason this was such a shocking event was the fact that she was the then holder of the WWE Women’s Championship and made an appearance on WCW television with the rival belt. To cause a further stir, she dropped the Championship into a trash can while stating that’s what she thinks of Woman’s Championship of Vince McMahon’s company.

It is one thing to comment negatively on the wrestling company, but to take one of their very prestigious titles and throw it away like that is one of the worst forms of disrespect that there is. This stands as an example of the underhand tactics that were used in order to win the “Monday Night War”.

Much like a lot of past workers that have had a falling out with WWE, Alundra Blayze found herself inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame some years later at the 2015 ceremony.
