Drew McIntyre quit WWE on the June 17, 2024 episode of Monday Night RAW. However, he did have other plans considering he turned up at Allstate Arena in Chicago last night on SmackDown.
CM Punk appeared on the latest episode of blue brand to address his in-ring status. However, The Scottish Warrior had only one objective in mind when he arrived on the show that is to take revenge on the Chicago native. McIntyre attacked Punk backstage and busted him open, the Scotsman then carried the former AEW star on his shoulders out to the arena and dropped him. Before leaving, Drew took the bracelet that had AJ Lee (Punk's wife) and Larry (Punk's dog) names on it.
AJ Lee and Larry are The Second City Saint's family. Following the brutal attack, Punk was taken out of the arena in an ambulance and seemingly had no idea of McIntyre's actions. However, once he notices the bracelet is missing and is notified about who took it, The Voice of the Voiceless will not take it kindly.
Dominik Mysterio made an outrageous comment recently. More details HERE
In all fairness, CM Punk did mention Drew McIntyre's wife in certain promos, but not in a disrespectful way. Of course, it was to taunt The Scottish Warrior, but Punk didn't take anything personally from him. McIntyre has seemingly stepped over the line when he took the bracelet from the veteran and made the feud more personal.
The duo hasn't even had a match yet, and the feud has gained massive momentum with the fans. CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre has the potential to sell out arenas for more than one premium live event!
Former WWE manager revealed his reaction to Drew McIntyre's SmackDown appearance
Fans had speculated that The Scottish Warrior would somehow invade WWE SmackDown to ambush CM Punk, but then again, some believed he would stay away much longer.
Former manager Dutch Mantell spoke about WWE's brilliant booking and his reaction on the latest episode of Sportskeeda Wrestling's Smack Talk.
"Very good. So I'm following the story. He quit and of course, CM Punk brought that up. I think they were expecting him but not at that time. So when that door opened, and all of a sudden it's Drew McIntyre standing there. A guy is laying down there, for a minute, I didn't think it would be CM Punk. I thought it might be something else. It was him. So, they had my brain running and racing."
Currently, it's unknown how the story will move forward. McIntyre did quit on Monday Night RAW but turned up on SmackDown. On the other hand, CM Punk had an altercation with The Bloodline as well. This week has been incredible for the WWE Universe!
