#2 Seth Rollins defeated Braun Strowman

Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman pulled double duty last night as they lost their Raw Tag Team Champions in the opening match of the show before the two men did battle for the Universal Championship in the main event.

Strowman inadvertently cost his team their Championships when he pushed Robert Roode into Rollins and he was then knocked into the turnbuckle and was later on course to become Universal Champion since he was wrestling a weakened Champion. Interestingly, Rollins once again came out on top the same way he was able to defeat Brock Lesnar as part of SummerSlam a few months ago.

Strowman is a monster and should have been able to get the better of Rollins, who had already been pinned earlier in the night, but obviously the company needed to push Rollins into a feud with The Fiend ahead of next month's Hell in a Cell pay-per-view. This means that The Architect managed to retain his Universal Championship despite the fact that he only used six moves in the entire match and then recycled his offense when needed.
