WWE Clash Of Champions 2019: 4 ways the PPV could end

What will happen? moment?
What will happen? moment?

Clash Of Champions will take place this Sunday, with a number of interesting matches. As the name of the pay-per-view suggests, every main roster championship will be on the line. There are eleven matches planned for the show, with ten title matches and a No Disqualification Match between Roman Reigns and the man who tried to kill him, Erick Rowan. With a pretty exciting build-up, this promises to be another great show for WWE this year.

One of the reasons for such is the number of matches which could feasibly main-event the show. The likely option is Seth Rollins vs Braun Strowman for the Universal Championship, but there are other enticing options. Both, Kofi Kingston vs Randy Orton and Becky Lynch vs Sasha Banks are worthy of closing Clash Of Champions.

Any of these matches could be the main event, but WWE must ensure that they end the show on a positive note. Whether it is a crowd-popping victory or a storyline advancement, the final shot of Clash Of Champions might be the measuring stick for the quality of the show in the eyes of many.

Here are four possible endings for Clash Of Champions

#4 Kofi Kingston finally vanquishes the Viper

Significant moment?
Significant moment?

SummerSlam proved to be anti-climatic for Kofi Kingston and Randy Orton, as their much-anticipated WWE Championship match ended in a double count-out. Since then, the rivalry has only intensified. Orton has formed a loose alliance with the Revival, who are going after Big E and Xavier Woods for the SmackDown Tag Team Championship at Clash Of Champions. The past few weeks have seen the Viper get the better of Kofi, until this week's episode of SmackDown.

With the show taking place at Madison Square Garden, Kofi and Orton had a major callback to 2009. They brawled all over the place, with the WWE Champion coming out on top after a familiar Boom Drop through a table. Kofi Kingston has not main-evented a pay-per-view as WWE Champion. As a matter of fact, the WWE Title has only closed one pay-per-view since all shows became dual-branded.

If there was ever a time for the rut to end, now would be it. This has to be the moment for the Ghanaian hero to validate his title reign by defeating Randy Orton, after a decade of animosity and doubt. Having this end Clash Of Champions would actually be an interesting idea, but a good one is given the satisfaction of his possible triumph.

#3 The Boss 'n' Hug Connection reigns supreme

Could the women main event?
Could the women main event?

Along with Seth Rollins vs Braun Strowman and Kofi Kingston vs Randy Orton, one of the biggest matches on the Clash Of Champions card is one that has not happened in a pay-per-view setting, at least since the Women's Championship got re-introduced. Sasha Banks made her return to WWE on the night after SummerSlam, turning heel and revealing her new blue hair. After making an instant impact back on Raw, she finds herself right in The Man's spotlight.

The Legit Boss will challenge Becky Lynch for the Raw Women's Championship. Simultaneously, Sasha's best friend, Bayley, will defend her SmackDown Women's Championship against Charlotte Flair. The two best friends reunited last week on Raw, with Bayley turning heel by attacking Becky with a steel chair following a tag team match alongside her.

This has sparked a welcome and fresh character change for The Hugger, whose babyface run was as stale as a week-old takeaway. The two women's title matches will be among the biggest on Sunday, with Becky vs Sasha being possibly the most exciting match heading into the show. It could be a perfectly great main event, with an ending shot of the evil Boss 'n' Hug Connection standing tall with both, the Raw Women's Championship and SmackDown Women's Championship.

#2 Seth Rollins slays The Monster Among Men

Another Rollins masterclass incoming?
Another Rollins masterclass incoming?

Braun Strowman has a chance to win the Universal Championship on Sunday, but he is up against the mighty Seth Rollins. Fresh off an inspirational performance and victory over Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam, the chances of Rollins dropping the belt here are pretty slim. He has been booked pretty strongly for a while and a win over one of WWE's best big men would only solidify that.

An interesting wrinkle on the show is the fact that both, Rollins and Strowman will be defending their Raw Tag Team Championship against Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode at the show. Whether the pair will coexist in that match or not, is another thing entirely. But the layout of that match could be an indicator of what will happen in the Universal title bout.

Rollins does a fairly great job in playing the little guy in matches against larger opponents and Sunday should be no different. Strowman could be looking at the lights once again in a Universal title match, this time with good cause, to further build Seth Rollins as an absolute machine. He has slayed the King and the Beast before, will the Monster be next?

#1 The Fiend interferes in the Universal title match

Hurt or heal?
Hurt or heal?

The current talk of the town in the WWE is Bray Wyatt, particularly the Fiend. It also looks like he will enter the Universal Championship picture in imminent order, after the Golden 1 Center, where Hell in a Cell is taking place, tweeted that the Fiend will challenge for the big red belt inside the satanic structure. The last few editions of the Firefly Funhouse have also addressed this "challenge", with Wyatt feeding the puppet of Vince McMahon money after he tried to fire him for challenging the Universal Champion.

The match has not been made official, but will likely be confirmed soon after Clash Of Champions is finished. But what if the Fiend takes matters into his own hands, and chooses to 'Hurt' instead of 'Heal'? With both Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman in positions where a defeat would hurt them, maybe none of them needs to lose. Maybe they both get laid out, after two championship matches. Maybe the Fiend makes his chilling presence at Clash Of Champions.

Bray Wyatt could interfere in the match between Rollins and Strowman, deeming it a no contest, and attack both men to stake his claim for a shot at the Universal Championship at Hell in a Cell. While one would feel cheated that the main event Universal title match would have a non-finish, it would be completely fine. The Fiend showing up would instantly boost the intensity of the segment and it would protect both Rollins and Strowman, while immediately building anticipation for the next pay-per-view.

At least it will be better than when Brock Lesnar caused a Hell in a Cell match to end without a winner exactly one year earlier.
