WWE Diva Emma arrested for shoplifting, company holds her responsible

WWE Diva Emma arrested for shoplifting

While AJ Lee returned and grabbed the headlines by reinstating her position as WWE Divas Champion by defeating Paige, WWE Diva Emma ended up on the wrong side of the news as she ended up getting arrested just hours before Monday Night Raw.

The Australian native was handcuffed for shoplifting an item from the Wal-Mart department three miles away from the XL Center at Hartford, Connecticut where this week’s Raw was being held. According to the arrest records on Hartford.gov, she was taken into custody at 1.00 pm after the alleged theft was reported to them from 495 Flatbush Avenue.

Police issued a statement that, Emma, whose real name is Tenille Dashwood, was charged with sixth-degree larceny for her act and she was released from police custody at 2.13 pm.

On Tuesday, Emma had to appear in a community court where her lawyer, Hubert Santos, stated that she will be taking part in community work.

However, Santos claimed that his client’s arrest was due to a mistake from her side and not intentional in anyway. Dashwood bought items worth of $30 and used the self-checkout machine at the Wal-Mart to pay for the stuff she purchased. But she missed out on paying for the electronic device. Rumours suggested that the device in question was an Ipod case.

In regards to the incident, WWE released a statement to PWInsider where they held her responsible for her actions.

"WWE is aware that Tenille Dashwood (WWE Diva Emma) was arrested for shoplifting. Ms. Dashwood is ultimately responsible for her personal actions."

According to F4WOnline.com , Emma did not feature on TV , but she was a part of the meet and greet segment before the show. Current word is that the news may have been big for the day but with time the incident will be forgotten by the WWE.

Dashwood’s mugshot of getting arrested has been revealed by TMZ.
