FOX reportedly wants SmackDown to have a more athletic feel instead of storylines that are too character-driven. That means SmackDown is likely to be loaded up with great in-ring workers such as Buddy Murphy, Ali, Andrade, Chad Gable, Kofi Kingston and Daniel Bryan. If those men all stay on Friday nights, then it will help propel the notion that SmackDown is more about the action rather than the questionable storylines such as the one involving Bobby Lashley and Lana currently.

In contrast to SmackDown's mission statement of action, RAW is better suited for crazier storylines and Superstars that require a little more time to work their gimmicks. Stars such as Lacey Evans, The Fiend, Aleister Black, Braun Strowman and Shinsuke Nakamura seem better suited for Monday nights due to presentation needs. Strowman is always used for feats of strength which are better suited to the show with three hours.

The Fiend and Black have long entrances that require time. With only two hours instead of three to work with, those entrances don't fit the best on SmackDown.
